After Michael's wins from the Olympics and the pressure he felt by society around him to win and perform best, he couldn't take a break and focus on himself because of said expectations. Which had kept him from reaching out for help since he as expected by the society not to give and keep going had caused him to feel isolated and depressed because he kept repressing his feelings and couldn't talk or ask for help due to expectations put on him.
