'Social partners' refers to trade unions and employers' organisations/associations.

Need to teach 10-15 year olds (esp. attract girls to STEM)

Education and gender problems are very linked because there is a lack of teaching about electricity sector in schools. Especially important to attract women to the sector due to low representation.

Wind Europe explain that they need to train young people aged 10-15 years old to attract them to careers later on (before they have chosen their career paths). At school age, we should use wind turbine, steam generator (see wilesco.com) or solar photo panels to be able to estimate by your self which tool produces witch quantity of electricity

Can use wind turbines to measure electricity at school-age; important to become familiar with the technology and sector.

Energy lectures for children

Initiative exists in Lithuania to provide lectures to young students to teach them about energy and electricity - national-level initiative; no exact age - last year was for 1st grade (8 years old)

Aim to increase attractiveness of the sector.

Energy in School Project

Energy in School Project: electricity networks taught in schools, increasing awareness and attractiveness of the sector. Students don't find energy sector jobs very attractive, so aim is to give an opportunity to understand the occupational opportunities and that energy sector is a good sector for employment.

Aim to create link between education and electricity industry. Implemented in over 130 schools - practical and theoretical courses to engage students with opportunities. Focus on last year vocational and technical school students.

Knowledge gaps/public distrust

Difficulties working with people who live by areas where electricity plants are being built - such projects are surrounded by a lot of public distrust. Try to work with organisations to increase an understanding of benefits.

Knowledge gap and much information available online but this is not necessarily accurate/correct.

Public resistance

Only 3 wind turbines across entire country but few people needed to completely stop project - lack of understanding that they are necessary for a just transition and cannot be reliant only on solar power.

A lot of information online about negative impacts of different electricity systems (e.g. health impacts). Schools, teachers say we need a just transition but are only committed as a 'message' but public resistance blocks progress.

People may not feel aware of the urgency/importance of the just transition. Important that schools ensure that students and parents all work together to understand how the just transition works e.g. games for students and parents to play together.

Political action needed in collaboration with trade unions

Political action is needed to facilitate the just transition. Trade unions can encourage/put pressure on governments to do this.
