Please take the time to read through this long email, it’s full of important information about next week, as well as information about preparing for your child's immediate academic future.

Where Should We Send Your Student File?

Please use this form to let us know where to send your student's school records. Utah state law mandates that all school aged children be enrolled in school. Student records will be sent to your home district on June 10th if you do not indicate which school you plan to enroll in. Final transcripts will be sent home with students on June 7th and will also be included with the student records sent to your new school. For more information or questions about student records please contact Jordan King at jordan.king@aisutah.org or call the AISU office at 801-989-7191.

Below is a list of free or inexpensive resources to assist you in fostering a healthy, active summer for your family.

Free Summer Lunch Program:

Don't let your child go hungry during the summer months!

Free Pediatric Medical Care:

Maliheh Free Clinic requested that we relay to families that they have openings for new pediatric patients. To qualify, families must be 150% under the poverty level with no insurance. Free Fun Workshops & Activities: The most popular kids workshops are through Home Depot and Lowe's. Home Depot's Kids Workshop is the first Saturday of the month. Lowe's Build and Grow Clinics are every Saturday.

Kids Bowl Free: If you have children under 15 years old, they can bowl for free at participating bowling centers. Parents and older siblings can bowl all summer long, too with a one time payment of $29 for up to 4 family members. Yes, that's $29 for ALL 4 of YOU & kids FREE. Free Movies in the Park: Many parks and outdoor venues will be playing FREE movies in the park all summer long! Click here for the schedules.

Summer Reading:

Summer reading programs at the local library are a great way to get kids to read during summer vacation! Or just stop in for one of the library's other special events. Themed activity days may include book readings, related crafts and hands-on learning. Check out your local library for activities or click here for the Salt Lake Public Library or here for Murray City Library.

Book Fair: June 3rd-5th: Kids can finally spend the money they collected during the Read-A-Thon. It's a BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) on all books!

Carnival Field Day: June 6th, 1:00-2:00pm. We welcome any parents (not required) to come and have fun with their child during field day.

Thursday during the day we will be helping out with cleanup and closeup until 1pm when we take to the field to have fun at the carnival. Please wear swimsuits and sunscreen, and don’t forget to bring a towel! We will be having lots of water fun!

Last Day of School will be on Friday, June 7th! Yearbooks will be passed out on the last day of school, as will a hard copy of REPORT CARDS😉.

We are going to have a breakfast/pajama/movie party on the morning of June 7th, but due to some changes resulting from the AISU "situation," the location is still tbd. I will let you know the updates as soon as I receive them.

Finally, I want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for being a part of your child’s education and thank you for all your kindness and support. I truly feel so lucky to have spent this last year of AISU with such amazing families and children! My heart is full.

Thursday, June 6th, 8:30am-12:00pm

No recess
Class celebration or cleaning classroom, 12:00-12:30
Set up for CoL, 12:30-1:00
Lunch, 1:00-2:15

Elementary Field Day/ PTO End of AISU Celebration 2:15-2:45pm on the field

Bubbles send off - let’s celebrate AISU
As soon as this is done, our class heads back inside to pack up. Students will be dismissed at 3:00pm.

PTO Carnival 3:00-7:00pm on the Field

Celebration of Learning 3pm- 6pm. All staff attends.

We highly encourage as many students as possible to stay during Celebration of Learning, between 3pm and 6pm. Some students will be assigned to present in the atrium with our class display, others can go to the carnival in between shifts.

Performances during CoL 3:00-6:00pm

PTO Carnival 3:00-7:00pm outside on the field
Inflatables 3:00-7:00pm
Face painters and Glitter Tattoos - 2:00-6:00pm
Scales and Tails - 2:45pm & 4:30pm

All staff and students here for 5 years line the stairs

Have student(s) and a staff member who’s been here for 5 years say something and then ask community members to write their favorite memory of AISU on a postcard or sticky note and stick it to the front windows on their way out.

TIME TO RETURN YOUR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT!!!
PLEASE send any classroom equipment that you might have to school next week with your child. That includes chrome books, chargers and books. If I don't collect all the equipment before the last day of school, I will be held accountable for the missing equipment, and I will have to pay $200 per missing computer. I know I can count on you to return the loaned items, and I appreciate your help in facilitating the returns!
