On March 15th, South Carolina’s Governor announced that all South Carolina schools would be officially closing until March 31st. I’ve also been aware from Facebook and other social media sources that our schools will be delivering lunch, packets of assignments, and for some schools, WIFI. I think that the grant is an amazing contribution to our education and it means a lot to me and others that our Governor cares about our safety, health, and education. I’ve been watching the news, checking on social media for news, and hearing things from word of mouth. It all gets tiring after you’re hearing nothing good. According to Entertainment Tonight, Kris Jenner has tested positive for COVID-19. She had no symptoms but just because she came in contact with someone who had the virus, she decided to take a test. My question is .. what if she wouldn’t have taken a test ? Would the virus have taken over her body so much that she would’ve been near death when symptoms finally came ? I sincerely love all of my teachers and classmates and seeing them for five days straight makes my day. I love going to school. Learning, laughing, having discussions in my classes, or questioning things that only good kids can do by providing facts or evidence challenges us as young adults. I pray everyday that our conditions surrounding the coronavirus will get better and that everything be back to normal. I saw a meme that a lot of my classmates were reposting on Snapchat that said, “I used to worry about quitting school, I never thought that school would quit on me”. All students have their days were they do not feel like going to go to school or doing their homework, but the fact that the choice of   doing those may be gone really hurts. Students are posting pictures everyday of their friends and teachers saying how they miss school. There was a meme on Facebook about how the government may cancel the 2020 school year. Students reposted this left and right saying how they’ve worked way too hard, especially the seniors. They also said how they would be dropping out if that were to ever happen. Can you blame them? I learned about it after waking up very late again. My father, my brother, and I went running today around the neighborhood. It was nothing eccentric or over the top. However, it was enough to make my day feel a little bit better. After that, I did my homework. There wasn’t much left, despite how stressful it felt when I first received it. Today, as a whole, just felt a lot softer. I didn’t feel like I was being quarantined in my house, in other words. It felt more like a summer vacation. I like that, even if it was for a few moments. Heck, I even practiced doing my own makeup. I didn’t stab myself in the eye so I think it worked out well. Then I watched a couple of movies with my family. My brother was absent from the room, but it still felt like we were together. Now that I’m in my room, it’s past 1 in the morning, but I’m pretty sure everyone’s sleeping schedule is so crazy the Mad Hatter is scared of us. But I like this.
