The topic was weighty, its importance paramount in their academic journey. However, introducing them to the use of AI tools added a layer of complexity. 

"We're in an era where technology can aid our learning," I began, addressing the classroom of fresh faces.  

"But it's crucial we understand how to use AI tools responsibly." 
 
I explained how AI could assist in research, problem-solving, and enhancing creativity. Yet, I could see the confusion in their expressions - was using AI in line with maintaining academic integrity? 

"To use AI doesn't mean bypassing your own work," I clarified. "It's a tool to augment your understanding, not replace your thinking." 

The challenge was not just to teach them about academic integrity, but also guide them in navigating the delicate balance of utilising AI without compromising their academic responsibility.
