American Black Leader (15/1 / 1929-4 / 4/1968). Born in Atlanta. The father and the maternal grandfather were Baptist pastors, a career that he also decides to follow. At age 22 he graduated in theology and two years later he married Coretta Scott, with whom he had four children.

In 1954 he took up his duties as a pastor in Montgomery, Alabama, the focus of the country's largest racial conflicts. In the southern states, racial segregation was supported by law. On the Montgomery buses, for example, the driver had to be white and only the last seats were available to blacks.

In 1955, because of the arrest of a black woman who had refused to give way to a white man, King led a boycott of segregation on buses. The move lasts 381 days and ends with the US Supreme Court's decision to ban discrimination.

King then began to organize black civil rights campaigns, based on the non-violence philosophy of the Indian leader Gandhi. In 1960 he was able to free blacks' access to libraries, public parks and snack bars. He leads the March over Washington, which has 250,000 people in 1963.

At the end of it, he utters a famous speech that begins with the phrase "I have a dream" and describes a society in which whites and blacks live in harmony. The Civil Rights Act (1964) guarantees equal rights between whites and blacks. He received the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize. He is assassinated

By doing this kind of activity I practice my pronunciation in different types of text. In this way I realized my strengths and weaknesses. I have an easier time performing oral exercises and more difficulty in doing the phonetic exercises. I can continue to practice exercises such as phonetics, to train and improve in this area.
