I enjoyed being able to actually hold them and physically touch them. It’s more fascinating being able to feel them.

We enjoyed being able to look at and engage with physical material alongside the mini-lectures giving us the context of the pieces we were looking at, and found it interesting that this was a part of Manchester’s history that none of us were aware of, especially considering how well documented photos and ephemera are in the archive and how accessible the archive is to everyone, showing a powerful way to bring community together.

i really loved seeing the sudan images in the culture sharing event !! one of my best friends is from sudan and it reminded me of her :)

seeing people happily share their cultures and food with each other was very lovely and it made me feel hopeful, especially considering the current climate

I found out some daily materials (flyer letters), which makes me feel like those materials are not only about popular people, also ordinary people.
Race archive are not only a record of racial discrimination, but also a record of their resistance activities and daily life.
The ignored voice has been discovered, which can better protect people's interests in modern society.

Seeing different archives about different cultures, is like picture telling stories of the past.

I liked being able to physically touch all of the material, and it made me feel more connected to everything -- it was nice to see everything so well documented for such a local event, and everything seemed very accessible to all members of the community (free entry, in a park/community center, food/refreshments provided etc.). It felt like you could've seen this event yesterday with the way it was documented. It was nice seeing all of the different designs and that it seemed like they commissioned local artists as there were different designs for the same event sometimes.
