We explored a few fictional stories together. Then, each student chose one story to analyze on their own.
We figured out the book's theme by looking into what characters do, think, and say and wrote about what the author did to convey the theme of the book. They decided what they wanted to put into their table of contents and began to draft. Students wrote in clear and concise language. They did peer revisions as needed. They finalized and shared the research papers with their peers.
