My teachers would incorporate it into our lessons, and I found them to be quite helpful when it came to breaking down and explaining things. If I was struggling to understand something, I knew I could rely on BrainPOP to help me understand that topic.

BrainPOP offers hundreds of videos where different topics are covered in quick fun animated videos. After those videos, there are follow-up activities, games, and quizzes that students can take regarding the topics which they just learned about.

The cartoons attracted the student's videos, and quizzes were helpful and accessible. This program helped me learn at school. It breaks down the topics for the students; You read, watch videos, and then an assessment. I will use BrainPOP with my second-grade class; it can be in the curriculum.
BrainPOP Jr. is great for ages K-3 and BrainPOP Espanol for ELL or ESOL students who speak Spanish. T gives information in an age-appropriate format with memorable characters. It can be used in schools, or for homeschooling students. It helps track the data of the students reading levels. I think my favorite part of it is that it helps ELL and Spanish options for students and teachers. This would be a great thing for smaller schools that may not have the staff to help the English Learners the way they need help. There are "after school" activities the teacher can assign or encourage the students to work on and also things the students can do in the summer to keep their mind on literacy! Achieve3000 offers a lot of resources for students and is an online program that provides differentiated instruction to help students improve reading comprehension. Achieve3000 offers Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum for students in preschool through 12^th grade. It is a paid program that the district can purchase for schools. Teachers can use Achieve3000 to find their students reading level and use the programs standards-aligned lessons to help students progress. The site also has a tracking system that tells what students need help in with the Set Assessment. The programs then tailor instructional materials based on the Lexile scores of each student. It provides ongoing assessment and assignments give constant feedback to students, teachers, and administrators about student progress. I think this program would be great for students to know where they are in their reading level. It also gives students work at their own pace so that they aren’t overwhelmed with things that they don’t know.

I remember using Brain Pop when I was in grade school and I remembered that I had always loved it! I felt that it was a great tool to use that always got all of the students engaged! One of the benefits of it is all of the different subjects you can utilize it with. It ranges from anywhere to ELA, social studies, math, health, art, etc. One of the main reason I like brain pop as a future teacher is the fact that after the students have watched the different videos they have the choice to look into quizzes or interactive games afterwards to further their learning. I know that in my future classroom I will be using brain pop with my students because I think that it is very beneficial! Feedback is also such an important asset to teaching and this app allows teachers to provide feedback to their students as well as grade their submissions. Overall, I feel that this is a game that is very helpful and helps get students engaged as well. These are just some of the highlights of brain pop! It also is free which is helpful and allows teachers to assign their own quizzes that fit their topic. I immediately gravitated towards the Scholastic Magazine because it was one of my favorites as a kid. The online interactive version is super cool.

The article entitled "News or Not" is especially relevant for today's youth. It's important to understand the source of imformation that you cite whether you are citing a source in school for an academic report or debate or simply in everyday life.

We live in the age of "clickbait" and "fake news." if you think it's hard to differentiate valid sources as an adult imagine having the under-formed frontal lobe of an eleven year old. I can'e even tell you how many times I've heard one of my sons spout some ridiculous fact only to have them cite their source as tiktok.

Teaching young people the skills to question their source even when it agrees with their stance will create young adults that we can count on to make informed decisions.

BrainPop can be embedded in all instruction because it offers a range of content areas to explore. They offer 3-5 minute educational and interactive videos with Moby the Robot. Moby the robot is a plus for engaging students! Following the video, there are short assessments available which is helpful for the teacher to use as pre- or post-assessments to gather quick information on student knowledge regarding a topic.

Remembering social studies in elementary, I looked forward to the scholastic news articles instead of the history books. Scholastic News is a developmentally appropriate social studies resource that advocates for state standards for Grades 1–6. Scholastic news articles are quality instructional material, clearly written for particular ages to understand essential concepts. Scholastic is a credible resource, acts as a secondary source for students, and promotes blended learning. This platform has been around since 1920 and has developed throughout the years; today, Scholastic News can be accessed digitally. My placement for Practicum 3 swears by scholastic for the Kindergarten classroom. We actually just used the scholastic article for January. The students created a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr. Students came up with scenarios where they could be kind and added it to a classroom "document" and signed their name to be accountable for helping others.

Khan Academy is a curriculum that has practice math, science, grammar, history, and much more for free. Khan academy is used daily inside of my classroom during small group instruction or intervention. This program offer 100,000 practice math problems for grade level k-12 and students are able to work on their own pace inside the classroom or in the comfort of their own homes.

It gives students a chance to learn geography and culture in an interactive way. One thing I really liked about this website is their daily challenges. There is map Monday, topic Tuesday, what if Wednesday, travel Thursday, and find out Friday.

I remember reading Scholastic News as a young child, and also seeing it in my own children's take home folders. I love it because it helps students make connections to the real world, by using children their own age, who they can relate to, to show them what's happening in the world, with stories and pictures that they can connect with. I also love Brain Pop, and my daughter uses this as well in her third grade class. It tests their knowledge and makes sure they learning what is being taught. It usually involves a video and a quiz. She says it is a lot of fun, and she enjoys learning on it. I thought Cicero Kids looked like a very interesting site, that makes a student feel like they are at history museum, and teaches them history this way. BrainPop is geared for students in grades 3rd to 8th while BrainPop Jr. is geared for Pre-k to 3^rd grade. Their videos mostly feature Moby (a robot), Tim (BrainPop), and Annie (BrainPop Jr.) Students can access content-based videos in math, science, social studies, health, art, technology, and ELA. After watching the animated videos, they are able to do interactive games and activities related to the content.

Teachers are able to create accounts for their students to keep track of their work. It even allows for them to make their own assignments for students to complete or use the ones that BrainPop provides. The site is easy to browse through. Teachers, parents, and students can easily navigate through it based on subject, topic, or common core standard. Even better, students can use the app or website to access the site. I would highly suggest this curriculum website for any teacher to use in their classroom as students will enjoy it and benefit from it as well.

They have many different free things that you are able to get onto and learn as you go. Many children are able to watch if they would like and they are able to learn colors, numbers, ABCs, seasons, holidays, and much more. The holidays and the ABCs are what I enjoyed the most when I would go on their with my children. For the holidays you get to build a snowman (example) and at the end it would count up to 10 snowmen and sing and dance. Getting into the starfall ABCs and it would being up a the letters and you would click on the letter you would want. It goes into the sound, and a few different things that start with that letter. At the end it will have you match the letters for a word and you can hear the sounds into a word. There is many other fun activities to do with starfall and you can always pay more to add on because it does go from Pre K to 3rd grade.

Besides, Kids Discovery online comes with a library of social studies material that the students can get access on any device. Another interesting source is that it has assessments that work to measure the progress of our students.

When it first started I remember it was only for math and I would look at the videos over and over again to understand a certain math concept. Over the years I see that it has expanded to other subjects including social studies. As I read through the website some highlights included:
-The program is free for all students.
-Students work at their own pace
-Students are assessed in the beginning with a diagnostic test. Therefore students will be working at content that is at their own level.
-Khan Academy offers a variety of tools to help teachers and students track progress. Teachers get real-time summaries of class performance and know which students are struggling.
- the most used content is now available in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
