Music can be linked to itself in parts and in sections. Linking could also be about the combinations of different musical elements. In this Padlet, I would like to focus on the aspect of linking music to experiences. Personally, when I listen to music, I can visualize a lot from the music. For instance, listening to Chopin and Magaloff’s Nocturne No. 2 in D-Flat Major, I can see a serene, crystal clear night be brought to life with lightning bugs and nocturnal animals. I’m not entirely sure if this is something normal that happens with anyone else but I think it is one of my favorite things about music. To take a song example from Ben Ratliff’s “Every Song Every Song Ever” Dorival Caymmi’s O Mar brings the scene of an Italian family dancing in the kitchen and cooking dinner together. Sometimes the images I see are just still life images while others could be full music videos. Linking these scenes to certain musical elements is something that connects me to music in a way that I can’t exactly explain.

I wouldn't have done it any other way. I'm not sure how to explain it but the song has a sort of vintage feel to it. Something in the way that the song is recorded makes it feel older and more meaningful . Then they add the music video and it just feels so full of love and comfortable somehow.
