I have created this page to outline a sequence of lessons that can be taught to a year two class as the National Curriculum (2013) states that children in Key stage 1 need to be taught about 'events beyond living memory that are significant nationally or globally' (DfE, 2013: 2). This sequence of lessons will help the children to understand how the fire started and the effect that this had on London at the time and now. The children will also be looking at the historical skill of chronology.
