Amazon - In July 1994 they first started the website, they were going to name it a different name than Amazon but it was difficult to pronounced so they just named it Amazon.

NBA - The league was founded in NYC and on June 6 ,1946 they started it as the (BAA) Basketball Association of America. Later on to be changed to the (NBA) National Basketball Association
 

Steve Ells the owner of Chipotle started his business as a sole proprietorship. He funded this by obtaining a $85,000 loan from his father and almost as soon as Chipotle first opened, they made up 1000 burritos a day.

Jeff Platt is the founder of the trampoline park Sky Zone. With the help of his family, the Platts raised $2.5 million by crowdfunding and getting donations from the community and friends. Platt owned a sole proprietorship.

Jack Dorsey is the founder of Twitter. He started his business as a partnership with Noah Glass. When Dorsey and Glass started this business, they had no way of funding it. In result, they took their idea of Twitter to some investors. They made a deal and got money to start their business.

VICTORIA SECRET_ Stanford MBA named Roy Raymond wants to buy his wife some lingerie but he's too embarrassed to shop for it at a department store. He comes up with an idea for a high-end place that doesn't make you feel like a pervert. 

M &M started by Forrest Mars, Sr., son of the founder of the Mars Company Frank C. Mars, invented the idea for the M&M  in the 1930s during the Spanish Civil War when he saw soldiers eating chocolate pellets with a hard shell of tempered chocolate surrounding the inside, preventing the candies from melting.

  

The drink Pepsi was first introduced as "Brad's Drink" in New Bern, North Carolina, United States, in 1893 by Caleb Bradham, who made it at his drugstore where the drink was sold. It was renamed Pepsi Cola in 1898 after the root of the word "dyspepsia" and the kola nuts used in the recipe.

Google began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were both PhD students at Stanford University in Stanford, California. The domain name for Google was registered on September 15, 1997, and the company was incorporated on September

 

Rowland Macy moved to new York after being disappointed working for another company. In partnership with his brother in started Macy's as a smaller corner store that turned into a huge success 

Richard Sears was a very outstanding american merchant who sold a watch company for $100,000. He then partnered with Alvah Roebuck to found Macy's. 

1. Coca-Cola - it first started as a patent medicine and with the help of  Asa Griggs Candler, it became the most dominant soft-drink in the 20th century.

2. Apple - two guys named Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak began their company in a garage and then they became very successful.   

3.True Religion Jeans - It got started by a guy named Jeffrey Lubell who moved to L.A. and did something unique with a line of jeans with colored stitching and lower pockets.

Lauren was able to more fully develop his business with a $30,000 loan, eventually expanding his designs to a full menswear line.

Nike- The company was founded on January 25, 1964, as Blue Ribbon Sports, by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, and officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30, 1971. The company takes its name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. Nike markets its products under its own brand, as well as Nike Golf, Nike Pro, Nike+, Air Jordan, Nike Blazers, Air Force 1, Nike Dunk, Air Max, Foamposite, Nike Skateboarding, and subsidiaries including Brand Jordan, Hurley International and Converse. 

-Microsoft- Microsoft was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates on April 4, 1975, to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800. It rose to dominate the personal computer operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, followed by Microsoft Windows.

-target- John F. Geisse developed the concept of upscale discount retailing while working for the Dayton Company. Using his concepts, the company opened its first Target discount store at 1515 West County Road B in the Saint Paul suburb of Roseville, Minnesota; Douglas Dayton was its first president.
