1)Being a criminal or breaking a law.
These people were extremely creative when coming up with ways of torture for criminals or trying to get a confession out of somebody. For example they'd take thumbnails and press them against the persons fingers and toes, or using a choke pare that would be inserted into a hole such as ear, nose, rectum, etc. and it would slowly expand to create pain of one to get a confession out of them.
2)The Black Plague....
This disease EXTREMELY deadly and will pretty much kill anyone or anything in its path. The plague was transmitted from fleas to rats which then spread to humans and killed them within a couple days. If you caught a case of the Black Plague you'd experience symptoms such as blood and pus-filled boils, extreme vomiting, and many other symptoms as well. So beware.
3)Famine.
During the times of 1315-1316 were unusually wet, creating crops to drown and not grow properly which then also resulted in starvation. Many people died from this and a weakened immune system due to starvation. There were also cases of reported cannibalism. So you may want to avoid visiting during these times.
