There are four states of matter. They are Solids, Liquids, Gases and Plasma. The four states of matter have their similarities and differences. 1st State of Matter is solids. Solids are particles that are pressed against each other tightly, solids are unabled to move freely. 2nd state of matter would be liquid. The particles within a liquid have more energy than the particles in a Solid. Liquids have no indefinite shape. Whatever a liquid is inside it'll be shaped as it. The particles in liquids are loosely connected and are pretty much free to move around. 3rd State of Matter are gases. The particles in gases move at a high rate of speed. The particles in the gas can be contained in a container. It'll spread out within the container. If the container is unsealed the gases will spread like crazy. Final and 4th State of Matter is plasma. Plasma is not a usual state of matter here on our earth. It may be the most common matter in the universe, who knows? Plasma has highly charged particles. Did you know that stars are big balls of plasma.
One major difference between all 4 states of matter is they clearly all have their own physical properties. Solids and Liquids both have definite volume. Plasma and Gases share a trait because the both lack a definite shape.
