“The Charge of the Light Brigade” was written by the English poet Alfred Lord Tennyson in response to a battle during the Crimean War (1853-1855). In this battle, a British cavalry unit—the “Light Brigade”—was commanded to charge against a Russian artillery unit. The order was almost suicidal, and the brigade was decimated in the charge. “The Charge of the Light Brigade” celebrates the self-sacrifice and heroism of the cavalrymen, suggesting that bravery consists of doing one's duty even when it leads to almost certain death.

the poem tells the story of a brigade rode on horseback. They were obeying the command to charge the enemy forces. And then, the soldiers obeyed the command to charge forward, eventhough all the soldiers realized that their commander had made a terrible mistake. Next, the soldiers were assaulted by the shots of shells of canons in front and on both sides of them. After that, The soldiers struck the enemy gunners with their swords. In addition, canons behind and on both sides of the soldiers now assaulted them with shots and shells. Finally, The world marvelled at the courage of the soldiers; indeed, their glory is undying: the poem states these noble 600 men remain worthy of honor and tribute today.

The famous line of the poem, ‘Their’s but to do and die’, is often misquoted as ‘Their’s but to do or die’, which gives the poem a different inflection. But Tennyson’s point is that there is no question of whether the soldiers will fail to carry out their military duty, even when presented with such a wrongheaded command to charge. They will do it and die, for queen and country. Another line that is often misremembered is ‘Cannon to right of them’, which is sometimes erroneously rendered as ‘Cannon to the right of them’, which disrupts the rigid rhythm of the line

The poem tells the story of a certain brigade which consisted of 600 soldiers who rode horses into the “valley of death” for a half a league. They obeyed a command made by the commander to charge the enemy forces which held their gun resource.

However, none of the soldiers were distressed by the command despite realizing their commander had made a blunder with his judgement, guiding them towards their end instead of glory. Regardless, as their roles as mere soldiers, they could only obey with obedience and not retaliating.

The 600 soldiers were assaulted by the shots of shells and canons, besieged from every side. In spite of that, they still courageously charged forward towards the face of death.
The soldiers fought the enemy gunners with swords, charging towards the enemy army while the world looked on in with wonder. However, as they came back from the offensive, they had lost too many men, riding back with lesser than 600 soldiers remaining.
Assaulted by cannons on every side, the soldiers were shot by shots and shells. Riding back from the battlefield, very few made it out alive with soldiers and horses collapsing.
The 600 soldiers’ courage and bravery is renowned around the world. Their glory is undying and respected. This poem tells the tale of these soldiers who showed their honour and nobility that will forever be remembered.

The Charge of the Light Brigade was a failed military action involving the British light cavalry led by Lord Cardigan against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War. British commander Lord Raglan had intended to send the Light Brigade to prevent the Russians from removing captured guns from overrun Turkish positions, a task for which the light cavalry were well-suited. However, there was miscommunication in the chain of command, and the Light Brigade was instead sent on a frontal assault against a different artillery battery, one well-prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire. The Light Brigade reached the battery under withering direct fire and scattered some of the gunners, but they were forced to retreat immediately, and the assault ended with very high British casualties and no decisive gains.they were 600 troops died.although they died, their name is still be remembered by people.
