Difference between impressionist paintings and surrealistic painting:

- Surrealistic paintings are created by the unconscious mind of an artist

- Impressionist paintings are focused on a single moment in real life, which includes a scenery.

Expressionist paintings are the expression of the view point the artist sees the world.

Abstract paintings are created by the visual language of form- color and line to create a composition.

Impressionist Artwork: • People's impression of scenery outside • Focuses on light too! • Shows if its day time or night time • A famous surrealistic artist is Claude Monet

Expressionist Artwork: • usually expresses pictures of things • exaggerates on the artwork. • Close to surrealistic but its not surreal

Renaissance Artwork: • Usually very religious • Has figures

from their own dreams and subconscious mind.

impressionist artists are when the artist paints the image as though someone else would see it. The difference between impressionist and surrealism, is that impressionist paintings work with light and the pictures are outside. The surrealism artists take the same background but add juxtaposed objects to it.

-Abstract: Is like when the image exists in your mind but you have no physical existence of it

Impressionist artwork work with light, and things that suit with others. Surrealist artwork is a lot like impressionist artwork, except they add things that don't suit each other. I personally feel that impressionist artwork is more relaxing than surrealist artwork. Impressionist artwork are more based on scenery than surrealist artwork.

Expressionist artwork use bright colors to express themselves. Their feelings are put into the paintings, anger, sadness, happiness and others.

Abstract artwork don't make sense. They're a lot like surrealism, but they don't use objects juxtaposed with each other. Abstract artwork might look like paintings with just random colors, but they hold the inspiration that the artist used.

Impressionism:

-- Paintings are about the outdoors
