Kristin Cooper:
They all knew each other or were familiar with each other. Everyone was very committed to addressing homelessness, or people who were unstably housed. There was crossover between RSF4 and ESF6.
Michele:
The fact that they had a lot of diversity to the group. They had a lot of understanding of those who are homeless and housing, but they had diversity in the way that they addressed those. From nonprofit, county, state, city, etc. Because of this, they were able to have robust conversations and were able to get past the barriers and face the challenges to come to creative solutions and find ways to move things forward.
Ones of the things that they relied very heavily on was the data systems. They did rely on their technical assistance providers and they were a huge assistance when they were reviewing data to help them determine how to make sense and utilize the data to formulate it in a response that would make the most sense in their community.
Christine:
From her perspective, the group has awesome listeners and they were open to any and all awesome ideas. It was fun to be a part of a group that was so open.
Karen Schneider:
For some of us, we worked with entities that we don't normally work with; this is was a really great opportunity for collaborations to increase our collective impact moving forward.
Misty Richardson:
Diversity in populations served...including VISITORS

Kristin Cooper:
The complexity of implementation of the projects they wanted to see happen in terms of procurement, finances, bureaucracy, etc.
Misty Richardson:
RSF4 and ESF6 are running at the same times with different goals and the overlap was difficult to manage at times. There are so many different keepers of information for the same groups of people. How information carries over to different croups is a gap. Where does all the information they have go?
Michele:
They would love to have the systems interact with each other, it is just a matter of fiscal capacity to make it happen and the political will to ensure that it happens.
Christine Hess:
The differences that she saw in terms of how the pandemic hit Clark County vs. the state was a challenge for the group.

Kristin Cooper:
On the positive side, the amount of money was allocated out from the federal govt. They were not struggling for funds. However, it was complex because they had all this money with struct guidelines. The politics were an influence because they had to come up with solutions. They did very well on Operation Home because it was well thought out and planned. Funding was not planned out in advance for rental assistance.
Randy Reinoso:
Having to deal with all the policies and procedures at a local level. All they things they were trying to accomplish was extremely difficult. It was a challenge getting money out into the community.
Stacy DiNicola:
Federal funds. Receiving those when they did was a positive for the community since they got the money quickly. However they were flooded with funding. During the time that the pandemic started, the community was going through systemic modeling. That may have helped in thinking of their system and how to improve it.
Michele:
With the combination of funds and local politics. They also had the situation where there was a flood of money coming in and people wanted to do different things with the money. They needed to step back and plan how to use the money in the best way to help people in the long term rather than get money out as fast as possible.

Randy Reinoso:
People that they needed to get services out into the community. There was an impact of retirements, but it was not as significant. They did experience somewhat of a shortage because of it, but they were fortunate to be able to fill a large percentage of the positions.
Kristin Cooper:
The capacity of their nonprofit community. They were able to hire using the federal dollars which was helpful. Burnout is a real problem.
Kelly Robson:
When it comes to the shortfalls, she did not think they expected to get hit again at the end of 2021. They were not prepared for the variants and they were running out of resources. She does not think the community was prepared for the second go-round. People are doing a great job with what they had but they did not think they would be there again.
Brenda H:
Burnout is definitely an issue. A lot of their staff have not even met with their units. They have only been in person once or twice and people are missing out on that connection. They started a peer group which helps people with this problem.
Misty Richardson:
She would like to see some bridging with EM Track. It is intended to be used going forward as a start point for their 211. They need to assign navigators for them to guide people to what they need.
Christine:
Communication was a shortfall in regards to Operation Home.
