The children explored the outdoor area and collected natural resources to make an arrangement outdoors. They went on a walk around the school grounds to look at the shape of different leaves and practised drawing them in their sketch books, exploring different lines and patterns. 

The children used a variety of media to explore making their paintings look life like in the way Henri Rousseau created his paintings. They identified that each part of the painting looked separate and that is how the 3D effect was created. 

To create the final piece of work, the children worked together and used their knowledge of different media and line drawings to create their version of Henri Rousseau’s work.

They discussed the colours and designs used before experimenting with 4 different colours to recreate Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup. 

They experimented by drawing self portraits as Warhol was known for creating images of well-known celebrities before creating their final designs. 

Taking inspiration from Warhol’s soup and the local Heinz factory, the children have created Pop Art designs of a tin of Heinz Beanz using their favourite colour combinations.
