A representative that guarantees the people's interests and will are reflected in the government. One of the main tenets of democracy is voting. Voting is an effective social change strategy. Citizens can advocate for causes that are important to them and fight to build a society that is more just and equitable by taking part in elections.

 

The results of elections dictate the strategies that will be put into place regarding a range of issues including the environment, healthcare, education, and the economy.

 

By exercising this right citizens honour their legacy and contribute to the ongoing struggle for democratic rights and freedoms.


In general voting is necessary to maintain a democracy in which all citizens voices are heard and represented.
