2. Kidneys control the amount of water and other substances in the blood and eliminates it through the  urine. 
3. Kidneys also secrete hormones that help maintain homeostasis and is an example of erythropoietin which is a kidney hormone.
4. Kidneys regulate the hormones.

2. Lupus nephritis is kidney inflammation is caused by (SLE or lupus). Lupus is an autoimmune disease which is a disorder in the body's immune system attacks the body's own cells and organs. There are different treatments for lupus nephritis and is determined by a biopsy.
