In Greek theatre, the Theatre of Epidaurus is the largest theatre with a number of 14,000 seats!

In Ancient Greek theatre, theatre was used as a type of medicine due to the healing it seemed to represent within their stories. 

Greek theatre acoustics are so good that no microphones are needed at all! From the back of the theatre you can hear a coin being dropped on the stage!

Roman theatre's were so big that they are equivalent to the modern day 10 story tall buildings. 

Whenever a Roman Theatre was abandoned, the sand protected it, that after how many years of being left there that it was as if it was untouched. 

Some Christian’s in the Roman time banned Roman theatre because of the inappropriate scenes performed within them. For example, there would be scenes where people would be naked or getting actually killed. They were very graphic.

If you are to be in Chinese theatre you have to go through training. The Peer Garden is a very important training school in China for theatre performing. 

Zaju and Beijing are some of the two best acts in Chinese theatre history. Many other acts have tried to show up Zaju and Beijing but failed. 

All costumes of certain colors were meant to represent something. For example, red dresses were brides and loyal characters. 

Some acts in Chinese theatre were considered to be anti-communism.

If anyone were to see a performance in Japanese Theatre, they’d be able to spot that there were no female performers. Only men performed and would play women’s roles. 

Japanese theatre was accompanied by their very own traditional instruments. 

Only the performers who are side talking for puppet theatre are the ones who can show their face. The performers helping to move the puppets legs are to be covered in black and aren’t supposed to be ‘seen.’

Female puppets don’t have legs, whereas male puppets do.

The Golden Ages of India came around centuries 4 and 5. 

In India, drama was actually created to be used as a religious tool. To spread the beliefs I think that religion was showed in a performance. 

In Sanskrit Theatre, genres weren’t used to describe the type of performance. Rather, it was described using moods and emotions.

In Middle Ages Theatre, each play was about 30 minutes. It may seem short, but they would also have about 40 plays to perform one story. 

Within a performance in the Middle Ages Theatre, there was a lot of gender swapping in their plays. 

Many people are fairly serious about the performances given to the audience, this is why a performer shall for sure know their lines otherwise they would get fined if they forgot it.

The performances within Renaissance Theatre introduced humanism. 

Shakespeare was created and inspired by Italian plays. 

There is also English Renaissance theatre that created in England between 1558 and 1642.

Stock characters were based on their regional characters; each character had their own fashion to represent their characters personalities.

Within a Shakespeare theatre, the cheapest seats were the ones closest to the ground, this may sound odd but it is where the people who didn’t fit in sat. 

Due to an awful plague called the Bubonic Plague, theatre to be put on pause due to the rising number of people affected. 

As one as seen in movies, if the audience was pleased with the performance in front of them they received rose that were thrown onto the stage, this is exactly what happened during the Elizabethan Theatre. People would even through terrible things at the actors if they didn’t like the performance.

Many didn’t agree with performances like theatre. They didn’t think it was okay to have theatre in the States. It would even create violent acts, like riots. 

During this time, many people believed that theatre performances was only a England thing. Because of this theatre was temporarily banned. 

Once again, North American Theatre was banned because it went against citizens religious beliefs and rules.

Broadway is a very known performing genre. The best seats within a Broadway Theatre are given the name “Mezzanhine,” they are located above the orchestra level.

Broadway shows make over 1 billion dollars in just on season. 

There are many Broadway theaters. To be exact there are 41, although only 4 of them are actually located on Broadway.
