- terrain model is ideal for this because key leaders should know every part of the land they will be trying to re-establish  in order to best navigate with their squads during the mission
- during this terrain model the platoon leader will go over with each squad leader and the NCO's what exact movement patterns they will each use in the mission to ensure that they are on the same page since they have not been able to do field training together, as well as what path they will each be taking
- key leaders will also know what their duty will be while on the objective

- each key leader will go over the contents of the mission with their squads to ensure that everybody understands
- sketch map is ideal for this because soldiers do not need to know exactly what the entire terrain of the land is, they just need to know where they will be going and the overall idea of the situation they are in
- the sketch map rehearsal will cover the movements that each squad will be doing, how each squad will be broken up, as well as who is in charge
- each soldier will also learn and be tested throughout on the paths they they will each be taking to make it to the objective, and what they will be doing at the objective

  •  Kevlar with chinstrap: make sure it is tight
  •  FLC: make sure it is tight and fitted right
  •  Body armor with plates: take them out and make sure they are the right specs
  • Canteen: make sure there are enough
  •  Individual weapon (cleaned, lubricated): do a full weapon inspection
  • 7 fully-loaded 30 round magazines (check to make sure they are full): press down to make sure they are fully loaded but not overloaded and that they are placed facing upward in the FLC
  •  Camouflage face paint
  •  Gloves
  •  OCPs
  • Proper Patches
  • Patrol Cap
  •  Wet-weather gear
  •  Compass: make sure it works and points in the right direction
  •  Map of the operational area (laminated)
  •  Boots with traction

Soldiers will go grab their gear if they do not have anything
