At the moment there is a big natural disaster occurring just off the coast of Queensland, Australia. Due to waters in the area being to warm with climate change, coral bleaching is becoming more frequent in the reef. What is coral bleaching, you may ask? Coral bleaching is when corals remove living algae(zooxanthellae) from their tissues. The physical affect on the corals also has a very visual change meaning the corals go completely white in the process. If only one event of coral bleaching occurs the area can usually survive and slowing revive but with a few, the corals are under more stress and prone to mortality.

When natural disasters occur such as tsunamis, cyclones and floods it can move human objects varying in size all over the place, these objects can be anything easily movable, this including a lot of rubbish. This rubbish flows into the oceans and it is getting misplaced for food to the marine animals or getting caught up in the natural plants in the environments.

It is important when dealing with marine disasters to follow safety procedures so that there is minimal damage to the marine environment and its uses, inhabitants and natural characteristics. 

Some of these weather types have affects on the sea, examples of this are;  if there is strong winds in the area the ocean can be very rough this sometimes can affect the inhabitants of the area, thunderstorms can change into tornadoes creating a huge affect on the sea and the global warming disaster, it's known that climate affects the ocean and due to climate change, as the ocean gets warmer this too has an effect on the seafloor. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, cause the warming and this will have an effect on the bicarbonate in the sea.
