Mrs. Anderson- example: Mental health is the overall well-being of your emotions, psychological experiences and social skills. Your mental health develops from handling emotional and physical traumas, biologically through family genes, and based on past life experiences and the reaction to those experiences. Within mental health is emotional wellness, the awareness of one's emotional state and reaction to situations, and how emotions have an affect on mood and everyday activities.

I feel our emotional wellness is just a part of our overall mental health, as mentioned on the UC Davis website “Eight Dimensions of Wellness”. As we strengthen and work with each of those dimensions, we are strengthening our overall mental health.

Someone who is “emotionally stable or well” doesn’t necessarily walk around with a giant smile plastered on their face. They instead are able to be involved in conflict and react based on facts. This person is able to navigate through a day where plans change without warning, yet they embrace it and make the best of the situation. Someone who is emotionally well is able to offer insight to situations based on past experiences and not just on their feelings about the people or things involved. This person is aware of the shift in their emotions as subjects of conversation change.

Someone who is mentally healthy maintains these same qualities. They are able to step back from trauma and drama within their own life and see it for what it is, instead of getting worked up over feelings and emotions. Mental health is also more than emotions, it’s based on the wiring of the brain and how we are able to handle our differences and the thoughts that pass through our minds.

Resources:

https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/health-and-wellness/eight-dimensions-wellness

https://www.mentalhealth.gov/basics/what-is-mental-health

https://uwell.wisc.edu/emotional-wellness/

A number of factors can cause mental health conditions, such as genetics, life experiences, and family history. Within mental health, there is emotional wellness, which is the state of being aware of your feelings and the way you respond to everyday interactions.

Mental health can include the things we characterize as being bad, such as depression or anxiety. At the same time, emotional wellness tends to focus on the positives of how you handle your emotions. Emotional wellness also tends to focus on ways that we can work on positively responding to our emotions.

A critical part of maintaining good mental health is emotional wellness, which means being able to actively know what you are feeling and how to handle your feelings.

Anthony Neises- Mental health is the way your mind thinks and just overall your well being in your mind. Also it affects the way you act and other day to day things. Mental health can be affected by what has happened throughout your life such as maybe your past or losing a loved one.

Emotional wellness refers to the ability to understand, manage, and express one’s emotions effectively. It has to do with coping with both positive and negative feelings. People with good emotional wellness can cope with stress, and move through life’s challenges, and keep a good outlook on life. This aspect of wellness often is influenced by personal experiences, environment, and social interactions.

Emotional wellness will affect people’s mind sometimes but not always how they look. The reason I say this is just because someone looks so happy doesn’t always mean that they are happy all the time. Someone could be struggling with their mental health but still try to not show people that they are struggling.

https://www.samhsa.gov/mental-health

https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/accordion-item/emotional-wellness

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TA3z_MuZzXG_EEJ1nL1Ohb7zUatZwjUU/view

Our mental health is our social, psychological, and emotional well being. Mental health affects our daily life, it determines a person's mood, thinking and can affect behavior. It is developed throughout the course of your life. Major life events can affect your mental health such as physical or emotional trauma, can be inherited from parents or grandparents, and are influenced by the environment you were raised in or are living in. If caught early, most of these mental health conditions can be treated with the right help, such as therapy and medication, so they can live a normal healthy life.

Emotional wellness is included in mental health and is basically your overall well being. Someone who is emotionally well can look like just being happy with their life, and persevering through hard times. Mental health looks different for everyone, feeling numb or hopeless, smoking, drinking or using drugs more than usual, having very little energy or motivation, and excess worrying and anger are some things that people struggle with in their daily life . According to cdc.gov emotional wellness is having resilience, stronger relationships and higher self esteem. Mental health and emotional wellness refer to different aspects of a person's well being. Mental health is the overall psychological state of a person's mind, while emotional wellness is more focused on managing mood and emotions. sources: https://www.cdc.gov/emotional-well-being/about/index.html#:~:text=Improved%20mental%20health.,meaning%2C%20and%20purpose%20in%20life. https://www.samhsa.gov/mental-health

Emotional wellness is how you control yourself regarding social or interpersonal communication. some examples may be showing empathy or subduing your anger so as to not lash out at someone it can also be seen as something that can branch off of your mental health as it also plays a vital role in defining it.

Mental health is the overall well-being of the mind as stated earlier it can include how emotionally stable you are but in addition, it can include things like conditions such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia

Emotional wellness and mental health are still vastly different because the aforementioned health conditions stated prior may cause hindrance or a complete inability to achieve emotional wellness but not everybody will experience these issues so it may only be an additional connection to those who do experience mental health conditions. A universal connection between emotional wellness and mental health that all people may experience is how people may experience nonchronic health conditions such as sadness and anger these emotions are what may cause a decline in mental health due to the stress caused by it

How does an emotionally well person appear though? In my opinion, an emotionally well person would be someone who is able to just think before they act as it is important to be aware of how others may feel after you act to know whether or not you are doing wrong

https://www.samhsa.gov/mental-health

https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/accordion-item/emotional-wellness
