Deshi is a teenager from Shanghai who has moved to Boston. He feels hard to understand the local accent and miss his friends and band. He feels very isolated. When he was practise guitar, he was complaints from a neighbour. They have a daughter call Helen and Helen seems to dislike him. Deshi becomes obsessed with her despite feeling rejected. At school, he faces difficulties with English. One day, he sees Helen and feel that she is blind after helping her with something she dropped. Helen says that she enjoys his music and apologizes to Deshi because of her father's complaints. This revelation changes Deshi’s perspective and also showing that things are not always as they seem. From this story, I learnt that we need to look on the bright side and think positively so that good things can happen ends on a hopeful note, as Deshi begins to feel a connection in a place that once felt so lonely.

Grace is a girl who lives on a farm with her parents and her dog, Benji. One day, while Grace walking through the forest with Benji, she meets a boy named Mark who is running away from home. Grace learns that he is from Manchester and he has run away because of his family issues. His mother passed away and his father is living with a new partner. Grace help Mark to keep a secret. Over the following days, she continues to search for Mark and listens to his worry. Finally, Grace suggests that Mark could live with his grandfather in Manchester. Mark agrees the idea and contact his fathe.
