This principle made me appreciate why some architectural designs are made in such a way. The specific details made in the form or physical design contributes to the usefulness of the building. When one changes, the other follows; they always interrelated, and they contribute to the overall beauty of the architecture as well. When I went to Italy, I was in awe of the ancient infrastructures, thinking that it was the same as Greek. I learned that, while Roman architecture is influenced by Greek, they have differences. Greeks have the Numerus Principle and the Golden Proportion while Romans have the Firmitas, Utilitas and Venustas principles. Roman architecture usually has Greek features in its façade but has a cylindrical body. I learned a lot, especially from Falling Water, such as:

· The inherent principle is integrity;

· Ornaments are part of the object, as opposed to just being on top of it;

· The part is to whole as whole is to part;

· The third dimension can refer to the physical depth or the intrinsic depth;

· It is possible to have harmony between nature and the architecture; and,

· Romance makes architecture more human.
