I learned a lot about their education system and their modern schools really surprised me. Even in small towns, the schools are very innovative, the lessons are interactive with a great atmosphere.
Living in another family also exceeded my expectations. The host was very supportive and his other family members took care of me really well.

We had an opportunity to learn about education systems in Finland and Iceland. The atmosphere in schools is really good, because students can feel comfortable and free, can study in their free time or just do something they like. The students from Finland and Iceland were very friendly, so we could talk to them about everything. Also I had an opportunity to know the family life, and in that way I learnt about traditions, culture, food, free time activities and so on... The activities were interesting and I had fun during them. Everything was really great 😊

The number one reason for that, has to be my host. The first second I met her, all of the stereotypes, about Finns being cold people, were broken. She accepted me immediately, as if we were long-lost best friends 😆! The family life wasn't much different from the lifestyle we have here, in Lithuania, but the warmness and care I recieved will stay in my heart forever.
Before I came to Finland, I went through a lot of pages in which I found info about most popular Finnish foods, traditions and habits of Finns. When I finally came there, the only thing that was left, was to check what was true and experience everything myself. And yes.. just as the articles said, Finnish food is amazing 😆!
Now when talking about the main point of the project - education.. it surprised me. It surprised me how Finns in schools feel as if they are at home, but still manage to become serious when they have to. The "walking with socks at schools" thing really makes the atmosphere cozy and in a way "warm". It amazed me, how much responsibility they feel and know, that everything depends on them. That they don't see a worse grade as the end of the world - they truly study just for themselves.
It was interesting to see how the lessons are. So modern, innovative and in some ways so similar but different from ours at the same time. After all, the quality of the studies mostly depends on the students and their mindsets, not on the technology that is used during the lessons.
The best thing this week gave me was the ability to change my mindset as well by looking at all of the cultural differences, education and communication aspects.

Also I had an opportunity to get to know about Finnish food, what they are eating for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The one thing that amazed me in my host’s family life is relationship between children and parents. It seems like children and parents are best friends, they are talking about everything, bad and good things. I even thought that I talk a lot with my family! I wouldn’t miss an opportunity to visit Finland again!

The first thing i noticed when I came to Finland was the nature (obviously), it was honestly breathtaking in an unknown way. Later on, I noticed the architecture, the people and the culture and all that is unique in its own way. I also was very interested in Finland's education that is different from Lithuania's. 
Though I do have to admit that besides all those things that I took a deep interest in, my host family amazed me the most. The family that took me in for that short week was very friendly and actually really loving. The relationship between the parents and their child. I honestly wish I had more time to get to know my host, I probably would have if the schedule wasn't so tight and tiring (though I'm not complaining about it, the week was really fun and full of interesting activities each day), but I'm still thankful for another thing that i forgot to mention was the food. Oh boy, the FOOD. The fact that Finnish people love liquorice candy was really interesting since not a lot of people in Lithuania like that type of candies. Also the traditional dishes of the country in a way amazed me as well. I wish I could've gotten more time to try other stuff from Finland's desserts/unhealthy foods and also even deer soup I got a chance to try.
One last thing, I hope that when the participants from Finland come to Lithuania, they will be amazed by our country and everything we have, just as we did :DD Also, thank you for this opportunity to expand my view of the world and I wish to get an opportunity like this later on too!

I had a wonderful time, met a lot of new people, made wonderful friends. 
Education system in Finland surprised me, because schools are really modern, students and teachers have really close relationships, lessons are fun and interesting. 
I also got to know interesting facts about Finland. They have really interesting traditions and habits, tasty traditional food. My host family took really good care of me, I felt like I was part of it. 
Memories still make me happy. And they will for a long time.

Schools are modern with lots of great and cosy places for students to hang out. Classrooms are very new, with many interesting things in them. 
My host family was very friendly, talkative and took good care of me. The food was delicious, got to taste some traditional foods they were pretty good. 
I feel like after that week I learned a lot about finnish education, their traditions, habits and also met loads of interesting people!
