Once the neanderthal died out the next generation was to come, and that generation was the homo sapiens sapiens! Homo sapiens sapiens originated in Africa. I couldn't find exactly where in Africa but some pages say either Ethiopia or Zambia. After the final ice age and the continents were formed the homo sapiens sapiens started discovering more and more land. They discovered 6 more continents: Asia, North America, South America, Antarctica, Oceania and Europe. Now the homo sapiens sapiens live all over the map.

The homo sapiens sapiens used the environment in lots of different ways to help survive. For example, they used wood from trees and stone to make axes. They would use the axes to cut wood for fire and use the wood to build shelter and dams. They would hollow out trees and use them as boats for transportation. They would dry out mud from the ground and use it for clay to build pottery jugs. They would use the jugs to collect water from rivers and lakes. They used wild animals fur and wool to make warm clothing for the cold weather. They used antlers and wood to make a stickle which is a tool used to cut wheat.

The weather changed back then as much as it did now. One day it could be rainy and cold and the next day it could be sunny and very warm. When it rained they would build shelter overhead to protect themselves If it was cold they would use their warm wool clothes. If there was a drought and there wasn't rain for a while they would fill jugs with river water. If it was cold they would build fires. They had lots of ways to keep happy and we still do to this day. But if we are cold we have heaters and blankets. And if we are hot we have air conditioning and in most countries we have cold running water!

Technology has played a huge role in the homo sapiens sapiens era. Over the years there has been many great inventions like:
work tools, telephones, cell phones, computers, planes and many more things that have helped us survive throughout the years. Some of the things they used in the earlier years were things like sickles and axes. They made sickles out of antlers and wood and it was used to cut wheat for food. They made axes out of wood and stones for chopping down trees to get more wood. They used ivory, bone and antlers to make different weapons like harpoons and bow and arrows. They used wood to make fish traps so they could catch fish to eat. Technology evolved lots over the years and now we have things like cars, anesthesia and running water. We have guns to hunt for meat and we have lots of gardening tools to get vegetables. Some people still use the sickle and lots of people use axes.
