Skimming allows us to have a general idea of what we are reading. Therefore, it helps us decide which parts we should read for more details. It also helps us scan for the correct information and find the correct answer.

2.  What is the importance of identifying context clues within a text? Mention the types of contexts clues you know already and explain each of them.

Context clues are the words and sentences that surround a word and help explain the word's meaning. Context clues are hugely important because their comprehension and effective usage leads to academic success. They can increase the child's vocabulary, reading comprehension, and make children better readers.

 

EXAMPLES:

•Definition/Explanation Clues. Sometimes a word's or phrase's meaning is explained immediately after its use. ...

•Restatement/Synonym Clues. Sometimes a hard word or phrase is said in a simple way. ...

•Punctuation.

Finding the main idea is a key to understanding what you read. The main idea ties all of the sentences in the paragraph or article together. Once you identify the main idea, everything else in the reading should click into place.

1) Identify the Topic. Read the passage through completely, then try to identify the topic.

2) Summarize the Passage. After reading the passage thoroughly, summarize it in your own words in one sentence.

3) Look at the First and Last Sentences of the Passage. 

4) Look for Repetition of Ideas.


4.  Explain your strengths and weaknesses regarding to the topics covered during the course and provide some possible solutions for you to overcome reading comprehension difficulties

I think my strengths has an approach in the skimming skill due to is more undertandable that tool to the read's moment, and my weaknesses are to find sometimes can find the correct  main idea and supporting details
