Name: Kelly Chong Kha Eng

Matric Number: A181178

Date: 6/8/2023-12/8/2023

2. Progress so far

Throughout the week, I've delved into several fascinating aspects of art that have significantly enriched my skills and understanding. The study of painting the human face and head has enabled me to grasp the intricacies of capturing expressions and features, breathing life into my portraits. I've also learned the art of character design, which means I can now create characters from scratch, giving them distinct traits and personalities that resonate with viewers on a deeper level.

Exploring environment and landscape painting has been an enlightening journey, allowing me to not only depict different scenes but also evoke their unique atmospheres and emotions. This skill has given me the ability to transport my audience to various settings, whether it's the tranquillity of a serene countryside or the vibrancy of a bustling cityscape.

Another fascinating area I've delved into is still life painting. Through this, I've gained a keen eye for observing and replicating textures, lighting, and spatial relationships. This meticulous attention to detail has elevated my ability to compose captivating arrangements of everyday objects, telling stories through their placement and interaction.

Overall, these courses have provided me with a comprehensive toolkit to express my artistic visions more effectively. I now possess the skills to convey emotions through human and character depictions, set the mood through landscapes, and tell intricate stories through still life arrangements.

3. Feelings and thoughts

After completing these advanced courses, I feel proud of how much I've learned. Painting human faces and heads is now much easier, and I can make characters that feel real. Landscapes and places come alive in my paintings, and even still objects have a story to tell now. I'm excited to keep using these skills and see where my art goes next!

4. How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey?
Learning and applying the skill of decision making throughout these courses has been crucial to my progress. I've learned to make thoughtful choices at various stages of my artistic process, which has ultimately shaped my learning experience. When studying human face and head painting, I had to decide on the emotions and expressions I wanted to convey, guiding my color choices and brushwork. In character design, I made decisions about personalities, appearances, and backstories, ensuring each character was unique and compelling.

In the realm of environment and landscape painting, I learned to decide on the mood and atmosphere I wanted to capture, which influenced my choice of colors, lighting, and composition. Even in still life painting, decisions about object placement, lighting angles, and the stories I wanted to tell all played a role in the outcome.

Through trial and error, I learned the art of making decisions that aligned with my artistic vision. This skill not only impacted the technical aspects of my work but also encouraged me to think creatively and critically. It's been a valuable lesson that extends beyond art, enhancing my ability to make informed choices in various aspects of my life.

5. How to manage time throughout this EP journey?

Managing my time for this online course during the holiday break required a combination of organization, discipline, and flexibility. I recognized that the holiday break offered a unique opportunity to dedicate focused time to the course, but I also wanted to balance it with relaxation and family time.

To achieve this balance, I created a loose schedule that allocated specific blocks of time for the course materials, practice, and assignments. I divided each day into segments, ensuring I had time for learning, practicing, and leisure. This allowed me to maintain a sense of structure while still being flexible enough to accommodate unexpected events or spontaneous activities.

Setting daily goals and milestones helped me track my progress and stay motivated. I prioritized completing modules, practicing new techniques, and meeting assignment deadlines. Utilizing digital tools such as calendar apps and task lists helped me stay organized and reminded me of upcoming assignments or study sessions.

During breaks or downtime, I would engage in quick review sessions or practice exercises to reinforce what I had learned. This approach prevented me from feeling overwhelmed and kept the course content fresh in my mind.

Additionally, I made sure to communicate my schedule and goals with my family and friends so they understood my commitments and could support my efforts.

6. Your plan for next week (Week 4)

Phase 4: Portfolio Development and Specialization

- Colorized painting

- Photo realistic painting

- Building a social media portfolio

Name: Addyrio Madais
Matric number: A182264
Date: 6/8 - 13/8/ 2023

Your progress so far
Based on my to do list I'm actually very way behind my schedule due to a few problems that I'm facing right now but overall I still manage to make some progress this week.

For my online course I manage to finish week 5 material and submitted my final project in coursera for this course. So the final project is actually just an assignment based on the materials from previous week where we need to prepare and form a case study in which we use herbal medicine to manage our patient. It was very challenging but I manage to finish it and currently waiting for my grade.

For my activity I manage to finish all of the plants that I want to study. So now I can focus on my mini book and my mini write up.

Your feeling and thoughts
Overwhelmed because the deadline is just around the corner but I still have a ton of things that I need to do.

How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey
For the final project in Coursera, we were expected to form a case study regarding a patient that we personally know and use the knowledge that we gain within these 3 weeks to help them. So in this task, decision making skill is very important. How to know if the patient wants alternative medicine? and if yes which option should i suggest? does this herb have research to back up its efficacy and usefulness? Through this I actually able to sharpen my ability to critically think on how to manage this patient.

How to manage time throughout this EP journey?
I set a goal each week and divide the task into smaller chunk so that it will be easier and more achievable.

To do list is an essential because sometimes you just focus on one task and will completely forget the other so I rely on to do list most of the time.

But another thing that I would like to highlight is that sometimes or more often you cannot control a lot of things, because problem will bound to happen but there is always room for improvement. Being flexible is also very important, if thing didn't go as planned, modify the plan to the current state and don't try to follow the schedule rigidly.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you cannot control it, just let it be. Sit back and relax and try again.

Your plan for next week
- Finish coursera week 6
- Focus mini write up
- Finish mini book
- Start on my video

Syamima Binti Mohamad Zaidi
A184220
13/8/2023

2. Your progress so far
This week I explored a little bit on Bootstrap. Bootstrap is a tool to help create websites easily. Unlike HTML and CSS, Bootstrap is a more easy tool to use to create website because it is more ready to use. Besides that, I have started creating my website, which is Cookie’s Hospital. I did a little bit of coding using HTML and CSS language. After that, my instructor improvised and helped adding a little bit of features in it, such as toggle button. So far there are a few amendments to make such as the features and also the design of the website.

3. Your feelings and thoughts
My excitement grows with each new skill I learn and every project I complete, a blend of curiosity and satisfaction. The satisfaction comes from overcoming challenges, solving problems, debugging my codes and seeing my efforts come to life. It's a reminder that I'm capable of learning and achieving things other than medical related stuffs I never thought possible.

4. How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey?
Computer science class includes programming assignments and projects that require me to apply decision-making skills. For example, there are times when I need to make decisions based on input data or user interactions, and then implement the logic to achieve the desired outcomes. Creating this website makes me realize which features or designs that are user-friendly, or difficult to use by people. In this way, I can decide whether to make people’s lives easier with the features I created.

5. How did you manage your time throughout this EP journey?
I create my own timetable and schedule. For example, I dedicate an hour every day to create my project. If there are any difficulties, I straight away ask for my instructor’s help so it would help me to complete my task faster.

6. Your plan for next week (Week 4)
Finish creating my website and present it to my instructor for evaluation.

Your progress so far
Here on out I moved on from C and started my venture on Python. Started out bumpy but I got the hang of it and eventually coded something that could distinguish each and every person from one another, a dna recognition program. Well a mini version anyways with self constructed human dna sequences. Then I worked on SQL which basically allowed to me to access, explore and customize contents of files much like how you would normally do using file explorer. Finally I also slighly touched on HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT where i basically just made a simple interactive homepage.

3. Your feelings & thoughts
Diving into many different languages in the short span of time sure took a lot out of me, but the end product was worth it. It was fun coding in different languages and exploring the different functionality each provides.

4. How did you learn and apply the skills of decision making in your EP journey.
Some of the assignments are up to you yourself to determine how you want to implement the knowledge your learned thus far to make the code even better. Deciding what code to use and deciding how the program reacts to user inputs were important to make the program more user friendly.

6. How did you manage your time throughout this EP journey
Rather than making a time table, i decided to make a daily task. Which helped me to not be too stressed about doing everything at certain times of the day. Instead, this allowed me to put in enough hours for the hard assignments and just enough time to enjoy leisurely.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 4)
Diving into FLASK which basically allows me to use Python, HTML, CSS , JAVASCRIPT along with API to make more complex interactive website . And finally work on my final project.

Hani Shaheerah binti Arif

A183586

7th - 11th August 2023

2. Your progress so far

In this week’s activity, I have went through the topics on Fingerprinting; Polymers and Fibers; and also Firearms. One case that was used as an example for this topic was Brandon Mayfield’s case where he was detained for having a partial match of his fingerprints at the crime scene. Only with the help of electronic databases that he was proven not guilty. These are some limitations of the past regarding fingerprintings. Regarding firearms, I’ve learned that gunshot residues that may be deposited on the target’s or suspect’s clothes plays a big role in solving firearms cases. It requires lab tests comparison on the chemicals found at the crime scene as well. I had also covered the topics on Narcotics whereby it uses the techniques of spectroscopy and chromatography to detect and determine these compounds. At the end of the week, I answered a quiz and completed two case studies.

3. Your feelings and thoughts

I had fun learning about firearms whereby they differentiated each gun shot and to recognize the importance of every little detail on this evidence related to firearms as it involves a lot of estimation in physics and chemical analysis.

4. How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey?

I’ve learned to be more detailed and precise on the information I have to gather and understand in order to make a crucial decision. Besides that, I do think that we should be 100% sure of the facts that we have before making any judgements of any matter to avoid any risks of inconvenience to ourselves and other parties.

5. How did you manage your time throughout this EP journey?

I make sure to at least go through one topic every two days during the weekdays, and I would complete my assignments by the end of the week. In my honest opinion, I have a lot of room for improvement on my time management. Allocating ample time for each class would be more impactful for me in the near future.

6. Your plan for next week (Week 4)

I plan on completing the remaining topics on Toxicology and seven other case studies to be reviewed. I would also attempt one quiz by the end of next week.
