I choose “Script Kill” to be my promoting object for this assignment. The reason I choose this object is that I like to play the Script Kill game very much, and I am also very interested in the Script Kill industry. Now I have opened my own Script Kill club in China and its name is Around the Clock Detective Club.

What is a Script Kill game?
At first, it was a game popular in European and American parties called Murder Mystery. Nowadays, it getting more and more popular in China and we usually call it Script Kill. Sessions of the Script Kill game usually in a group of 4-6 people, take place in specialist escape room-style venues and take over 4 hours. Players are engaged in a fictitious scenario (sometimes they need to wear costumes), and attempt to solve the mystery through interrogations and evidence gathering.

Target Audience

My target audience is mainly young people aged 15-30 years old(1) and it becoming a soaring category in the offline social entertainment market. The audience would have interests in reasoning and problem solving, so they might read detective novels or watch a crux play. Therefore，Script Skill would be able to advertise in video websites/apps (e.g. Youtube) and social networking sites/apps (e.g. Wechat/Facebook/Instagram).

This report mentioned the controversy about whether script killing is prone to psychological problems. Xinhua News Agency pointed out that in the Script Kill game club, some scary settings may help young people release stress, enrich their imagination and creativity, but too scary content may cause psychological problems for some immature minors.

This research provides lots of information about the Script Kill industry and it also includes some useful data.

Offline high-demand social networking lays a solid foundation for the Script Kill game to move from online to offline, so the number of offline script killing shops has increased dramatically.
The problem of the Script Kill game industry now exists is low threshold to open a Script Kill club which results in incomplete facilities and unprofessional DM. Piracy of scripts is another serious problem for the industry and no department regulates this problem at the moment.

For assignment 2, I will be shooting a video for my promotional object. I decided to make an opening advertisement for the Script Kill club. The style of the video should be mysterious, interesting and give the audience a feeling of wanting to explore and can't wait to play a session of the Script Kill game. The moving of the camera will be slow and smooth. The background music will be deep.

Initial Thoughts

My initial thoughts for this course is I think it won't be too boring for me as I am very interested and enjoy in designing and making videos. Every time I finish a project, I get a sense of achievement. Another reason is that I am an international student, English is not my mother language so I always feel it is so difficult to write an essay, this course isn't required to write an essay and I am so happy with this.
I have been getting in touch with brainstorming, researching for a project, and making videos before. However, I haven't been learning HTML and I know nothing about it. Therefore I think I should pay more attention on learning HTML for this course and I believe I can go through this challenge.
