-Why I have chosen this subject?
I have chosen this subject because it is a subject that interests me and I would like to research all of the relevant details surrounding this subject and the different factors that can effect peoples sentences.
-Justification
I have chosen this subject as there is many different views from society and different factors that can make someone need a life sentence and never be released. With many people believing things such as "‘Our courts should be able to send the most brutal murderers to jail for the rest of their lives. I think people in Britain will be glad that our courts have disagreed with the European Court of Human Rights-university of Birmingham. I think it will be incredibly interesting researches why these people have these views and what the law and judgment system classes certain types of crime at and how that varies with their time in prison

I will firstly research and use quotative data , this will range from different pieces of information and statistics which will review and cement my research. Such as how many prisoners then leave prison re offend once they get out of prison. And also such things as how many murders are serving life.

I will also be using qualative data during my research such as what people believe about life in prison and if they think that people who commit sadistic crimes such be let out.

For my research tool I will use such things as a questionnaire or also an online survey to gather some quantative and also quotative data to assist my findings and information. I I will consists this of the members of my college class which is a mix of male and female ranging of ages from 17-18.
The size of the information I will find is going to be my college class who I will show my findings to

Ethics- I will have to Ethics during my research. I will do this by not adding in any information which could possibly offend anybody or any pieces of information that could be a touchy subject.

During my research and the information I have gathered I will have to check the "validity" this is where there is different polarities to check how reliable a source of information is. for example where the source has came from, where they authors have gathered the information from, why it was created. This all effects how reliable the source is overall.

Quantitative data is information about quantities, and therefore numbers, and qualitative data is descriptive, and regards phenomenon which can be observed but not measured, such as language.
www.simplyphyscology

This is the argument that I am going to be researching surrounding the statement that "life should mean life ".
There is manty debate around this chosen subject in society itself. Many people believe that due to the severity and often "sadistic" nature of the crimes they should spend the rest of their life in solitary confinement.
Whereas others belive that these people should be allowed parroll and shouldn't serve the life sentences. Due to facts such as people can be rehabilitated in prison etc.
But how equipped is a prison at rehabilitating people ?
