Many people have been considered over the notion that GMOs could be causing health effects. They say things like "we cannot know lasting effects because they have not been around for that long." In reality, it has been studied since 1953 and out into use starting in the early 1970s. Many studies have also proven that they are safe. On such study by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine came to the conclusion that there are no differences in health risks between those exposed to GE foods and those who are not.
