2. The conflicts occurs in Mexico and has been going one since december 2006, ten years.

1.  Independent groups are the involved parties.
2. Explain what the conflict is about (natural resources, borders, religion, minorities, ideology, politics)
   The conflict is about narcotics. Because of Mexico's geographic location, it has been used as the focal point for narcotics and illegal immigration. 
3. Are any of the involved parts democratic?
4. Do major powers, such as China, the USA, Russia, have interests in the area?
5. Is the conflict hot (armed conflict) or cold? It's an armed conflict, there are about 45 000 soldiers involved along with state and federal police forces.
6. Has the UN or other international organisations been involved in mediating the conflict?
7. What are some of the concessions that would reduce the conflict? (border regulations, cultural rights, democratic rights, rights to protest)
