We humans in particular have caused severe damage to ecosystems. Promoting the sustainable use of ecosystems and preserving biodiversity means protecting the future of our planet and its creatures.

The target we'll be exploring most closely is universal access to safe and ecosystem. 

123 countries had committed to setting voluntary targets to achieve “land degradation neutrality”, a global target adopted in the 2030 Agenda, and 60 countries had officially endorsed those targets. This shows that many communities have a great interest in taking care of their ecosystems.

As an adult, Pema enrolled in a local college and studied forestry. During that time, she became involved with several wildlife research and conservation organizations, and through a group called Himalayan Scholars for Nature, she was able to participate in a variety of conservation activities, including tree planting and animal rescue, she recalls.
After graduation, Pema volunteered with red pandas. This inspired her to join the RPN Asia team based in eastern Nepal as a full-time employee. She says she is more excited than ever to be able to use her skills and passion as a Conservation Coordinator. In my new position, I want to do everything I can to protect red pandas and their habitat," she says.

Global warming is the extraordinary increase in global temperatures between 2018 and 2021, primarily due to greenhouse gases released by people burning fossil fuels.

The biggest cause of rising temperatures is greenhouse gases, which trap heat from sunlight and prevent it from being released into the Earth's atmosphere. Despite the global need to keep greenhouse gases under control, temperatures continue to rise.
