This guy Joe was over $270,000 in debt by the age of 32 from student loans, and his mortgage. After two years of chipping away at his student loan debt he only paid off $10,000 out of over $100,000. He sold cars, motorcycles, his road bike, and extra things he had. He still didn't have enough so he took the money out of his retirement funds and stopped contributions to his 401(k), eventually he paid his student loans off, but still had loans from his mortgage.

Toni Riss had a credit card with a 79.9 APR. She said "I had an accident on a motorcycle, went through bankruptcy to pay for medical expenses and my credit went to hell in a hand basket, so I was looking for credit cards for people with bad credit". She was granted a card with a limit of $300 but after 6 months she got a mail in the letter saying her starting rate of 29.9 was going up to 79.9. Almost 2 in 5 American adults do not exactly know about credit card. When it comes to debt, not understanding what you’re getting yourself into can not only cost you in dollars, but also make you miss out on what you really want to do with your money.

There are four people who have shared the experiments they learned from their debt, including how they realized the errors of their ways and changed their money habits to work toward becoming debt-free.
