I can connect my life to this story and to Chris McCandless because I know where Chris came from with wanting to get out of the societal norm and go into the wild so he can learn about himself and to be free of his obligations. I love going on camping trips to mammoth or the desert with my family because it gives me a peace of mind and so I can see why Chris wanted to go into the wild to find himself and to find peace away from his family.

1. The natural world can provide answers to human questions by going out into the silent world where you have no distractions and can think for yourself and get away from all the problems for that one moment

2. One should take risks because if you don't you won't be able to experience the greater things in life. And one would never know if something would have gone differently if they didn't take the risk.

3. We can live deliberately by choosing what we want to do with our lives very carefully with a lot of thought and then making it happen by not messing around and letting other things distract us. Also, you can help others and yourself by making a difference in this world and living one day at a time. Just take every day, day by day.

- To me this quote means that Chris was finally at peace. He got to live his life in a way that no one else could choose or alter besides God. He wanted a simple life where he earned things and was not just simply given them.

The aspect of McCandless's story that is most admirable is how close he became with all the people that he met along his journey. And the special bonds and connections he made with everyone. Because of his encounter with these people, they all wrote about him, what they thought about him and the things they did.

This story connects to my life by the way Chris goes out in the wild and finds his happiness within the silence of nature where he can just forget his problems for a moment. The way I find my happiness and where can escape my problems is when I play soccer. When I play my mind is focused on the game and nothing else.
