Ted Rowland: I’m Ted Rowland and this is CNN ,the most trusted in news. Today’s topic that on everyone’s mind is how do we treat mental illness in the court systems? Joining us today on speaker phone from his prison cell with his perspective on mental illness in court systems , George Milton who reportedly murdered his friend Lennie Smalls, after reportedly finding out Smalls killed a women , by petting her to hard.Here is George. Hello George.

George : Hello Ted , thank you for having me.

Ted Rowland: To start off , so describe to us the type of person your friend Lennie

George:First I would like to point out that Lennie was never a bad guy, he was often misunderstood and he often did not grasp like his own strength and personal boundaries.Which would cause him trouble.( chapter 3)

Ted Rowland: Their was a report in Weed, that a young lady was reportedly raped by Lennie,however the only evidence was a torn dress. Would you like to briefly tell the audience what happened from Lennie’s perspective?

George: Why sure, so I can clear Lennie’s name. That is a perfect example of Lennie being misunderstood.Lennie didnt not rape that girl,he only ripped her dress because he” likes petting things”.Although, it does not excuse what he did , it provide an example of a situation where he did know how to handle a situation like a normal person would and it got him to big trouble.(chapter 3)

Ted: Knowing that he tends to do things like this , why did you continue looking after?

George: i am a man of my word , and as a man of word i kept my promise that  made with his aunt that I would look after him for her.(ending of chapter 2 ,early chapter 3)

Ted: If you hadn't made that promise to his aunt would you have looked after Lennie?

George: I would not have , Lennie  is a hassle to look after. With his tendency to bad things and act childish.(pg.15)

Ted: Now that we  discussed , Lennie behavior that may off led up to him murdering . Would  you mind describing to us what  happened ?

George: Although this is a still a sensitive subject , I know that  it  is important for yours  audience to know about situations like this. Well for starters the women was engaged to the bosses son Curley . Curley’s wife had a tendency to try to seduce the men that worked on the farm. Lennie was not a  exception, i warned Lennie to stay away from her .  However one night she went out to the barn , where Lennie was crying over the dog he accidently killed. She then came on to him and then she asked him to pet her hair. But Lennie petted her hair too hard and snapped her neck and then he left her there to die.Slim found her in the barn and told me what happened.(end of chapter 3)

Ted: What was going through your mind after you heard what happened ?

George:  The first thing I thought was, how angry I was at him for doing such a horrible thing . How could he do such a thing? Was he really that stupid? . Then I thought how was i going to get him out of this? There was no possible way of getting out of this , he done messed up big time. After that I thought what was Curley going to do to him when he found out and more importantly what was the law going to do him.(chapter 3)

Ted:After hearing he murdered the women , you reportedly turned shot him.Why did you decide to this ?

George : I choose this because I heard  that Curley was going to murder him and I did not  want him to die a the hands Curley. It would have been a uncaring death  and  I didnt want him to die that way . Instead I took it on myself to kill him.

Ted: If you hadn't killed him what do think would have happened in court system?

George: first off I dont believe he would've made it to courts and if he did he would of probably been sent to death or murdered by other prisoners.
