The differences that I have learned between Spanish and english language is that spanish uses gender to determine what noun is used in a sentence. I also learned that in spanish, adjectives come after the noun not before like in english. Interesting things I learned about the culture in Costa Rica is that their religion (Catholic) plays a very important role in their culture. It impacts their laws and is a requirement in their education.

When I continue spanish in high school, I hope to learn how to be more fluent and be able to hold a full conversation in spanish. I would like to be able to talk to a spanish speaking person without my words sounding forced or having to hesitate when saying something. I would like my words to be smooth and to sound like I know exactly what I am talking about.

Learning spanish on an online course was definitely a different learning style than I am use to. Not only did I learn spanish but I learned time management and how to teach myself without the help from an actual teacher. I liked being able to do the work on my own time at my own pace. I could personally improve by taking my studies more serious and spacing my work out more efficiently rather than doing things last minute and falling behind.

Note taking helped me learn spanish in this course. Being able to look back at my notes when I didn’t understand a topic or just studying what I wrote helped me understand what I was learning. Some things I can improve on is taking my time on some assignments, rushing my way through some assignments wasn’t a good idea because it caused me to not remember some of the information that I was reading.

My instructor was very flexible when it came to work and due dates which helped me alot this year since this was my first online course. Trying to find that balance of doing my online work and my regular class work was hard at first but thanks to the flexibility of my instructor, I was able to find that balance. There wasn’t anything that my instructor didn’t do that didn’t help me.
