         <title>Heat can be used to kill bacteria and any other forms of microorganisms. there are two types of heat sterilization : </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-dry heat <br>-moist heat<br><br>Moist heat is more effective at killing bacteria compared to dry heat. It is due to hydrolyzing effect of water and greater penetration power. Also, moist heat require less heat to sterilize compared to dry heat. Lastly, moist heat can cause the coagulation of protein (or we can called the denaturation of proteins) which can interrupt the metabolism of the microorganisms. Examples of the use of moist heat are boiling, autoclaving, and pasteurization. In this experiment, waters were heated at 5 different temperatures that were used to demonstrate the effect of heat on the test microbes, <em>Staphylococcus aureus</em> and <em>Bacillus cereus.</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At temperature 25'C to 60'C, both bacteria were able to survive. But at 80'C there was no growth observed for <em>S. aureus but t</em>here was growth fo<em>r B. cereus. B. cereus </em>also able to survive at 80'C but at 100'C, there were no growth observed for both bacteria. This showed that <em>B. cereus </em>was more resistant to heat than<em> S. aureus</em>. This may be due to <em>B. cereus </em>able to form resistant endospore while<em> S. aureus</em> cannot. Also, from the result, it can be said that with increasing temperature, the rate of survival for each bacteria were reduced. </div>]]></description>
