Solid is one of the four fundamental states of matter (the others being liquid, gas,
plasma,Bose-Einstein Condensates. In solids molecules are closely packed.it is characterized by structural rigidity and resistance to changes of shape or volume. Liquid is a nearly in compressible fluid that conforms to the shape of its container but retains a (nearly) constant volume independent of pressure. As such, it is one of the four fundamental states of matter, and is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed shape.The molecules in liquids
are not as tightly packed as in the solids. they have little
space so they can move around.
and also change into the shape of the container.
Gas is a sample of matter that conforms to the shape of a container in which it is held and acquires a uniform density inside the container, even in the presence of gravity and regardless of the amount of substance in the container.

AIR-AIR HAS NO PACKED MOLECULES THEY ARE ALLOWED TO MOVE FREELY THEY HAVE NO MOLECULES TO HOLD EACH OTHER.THEY HAVE NO DEFINATE SHAPE OR VOLUME.

In physics, a state of matter is one of the distinct forms in which matter can exist. Four states of matter are observable in everyday life: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. Many other states are known to exist, such as glass or liquid crystal, and some only exist under extreme conditions, such as Bose–Einstein condensates, neutron-degenerate matter, and quark-gluon plasma, which only occur, respectively, in situations of extreme cold, extreme density, and extremely high-energy. Some other states are believed to be possible but remain theoretical for now.

  • Liquid matter is made of more loosely packed particles. It will take the shape of its container. Particles can move about within a liquid, but they are packed densely enough that volume is maintained.
  • Gaseous matter is composed of particles packed so loosely that it has neither a defined shape nor a defined volume. A gas can be compressed.
