I think the Islamic empire had the biggest influence. I think that as Islam is still today. Unlike the roman, mongol, and other empires, the Islamic empire still has influence on todays world as over 3 billion people follow Islam. They also took over many countries. These countries include some of Europe and Africa. Their trading systems were also very advanced

What I learnt from seeing other people’s perspectives on different empires is that many empires are very strong and advanced. The Roman Empire having public restrooms is very advanced in that period of time. The mongol empire took over many land. I also learned that the roman empire had many wonderful builders and architects. They used coins as their money. Overall, many empires were very advanced, however the Islamic empire had the most influence.

And it’s the biggest religion with lots of people.

The Islamic empire has invented many stuff. Like hospitals, universities, coffee, violin, cameras, algebra, surgery, and a few instruments.

Reflection

In my opinion, the Islamic empire has made the most impact worldwide in the Middle Ages. The Islamic empire has played a really important role in the Middle Ages. The Islamic empires role in the Middle Ages was supplying an driving ideas to the empires and countries to Europe. During the Middle Ages the Islamic empire was spreading out the Arab culture through Islam. The Islamic leader( The Prophet Muhammad) was spearing this religion into other people which led to Islam being the biggest religion in the world right now.

Islam mainly spread through the Prophet Muhammad swt but after the prophet passed away some Muslims actually left Islam because they thought that of the prophet dies Islam is basically over. One man named Abu Bakr was one of the closest people to the prophet and was the first man to ever become Muslim, he went to the people that left Islam and told them to come back to Islam and whoever didn’t listen to him, he killed them. After that Islam would spread through the prophets friends and the holy book the Quran.

The Islamic empires had some innovations like algebra, hospitals, surgery, universities, coffee, the flying machine, the holy book “ The Quran” and many more innovations.

They built big roads and buildings that helped people travel and live better. Their language, Latin, helped make many other languages.

I picked the Roman Empire because they did a lot of important things. They had a big army and took over many lands. They helped share new ideas with many people. I saw pictures of Roman buildings that are still standing. That means they were very good at building.

Other empires were also big, like the British Empire, but I think Rome did the most things that still help us today. Their ideas and buildings are still around. That is why I think the Roman Empire was the most important.

In my opinion I think that the Roman Empire had a really big impact worldwide. The Roman Empire lasted from 700BC to AD476. The Roman Empire had a really big impact worldwide because it had supreme power, advanced engineering, military successes, religious customs, entertainment and its brutality. At the peak of its power, Rome ruled more than 45 million people across Europe, North Africa and Asia. Its army was the most powerful in the world.

After listening to people’s ideas about different empires, I realized that each empire had their own unique culture, history, and rules. Like for example The Roman Empire’s culture had a mix of many cultures, influences, and religions, The Ottoman Empire’s culture is largely influenced by the Persian culture from the east, and The Mongol Empire’s culture is about the value of family, respect for one's parents.

Let me start taking and out the islamic empire. The Islamic Empire, or Caliphate, began after Prophet Muhammad’s death in 632 CE. The Rashidun Caliphs expanded Islam beyond Arabia. The Umayyad Caliphate (661–750) extended the empire from Spain to India. The Abbasid Caliphate (750–1258), with its capital in Baghdad, led the Golden Age of Islam, marked by major advances in science, medicine, and culture. After the Mongol invasion in 1258, regional Islamic empires rose, including the Ottomans in Turkey, Mughals in India, and Safavids in Persia. The Islamic Empire played a key role in preserving ancient knowledge and making major contributions to algebra, astronomy, and literature. It also promoted trade, art, and architecture, spreading Islam and uniting diverse cultures across continents. Its legacy remains influential today.

Roman buildings are still standing today. The Roman Empire controlled a huge area across Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia. Never has there been a larger empire.Multiculturalism was the norm, and multiple language accommodations were needed.

The Islamic Empire had one of the biggest impacts on world history due to its rapid expansion of a diverse territory under one rule. Within just a century after the death of Prophet Muhammad in 632 CE, the Islamic Empire stretched from Spain in the west to India in the east. This expansion allowed for the blending of various cultures, ideas, and technologies, making the Islamic Empire a melting pot of knowledge and innovation. The empire’s ability to connect different regions promoted trade, communication, and the spread of Islam as a major world religion.

One of the most impactful contributions of the Islamic Empire was in the field of knowledge and science. During the Golden Age of Islam, scholars in cities like Baghdad, and Cairo made groundbreaking advancements in mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and philosophy. They preserved and translated ancient Greek, Roman, and Persian texts, which were later passed on to Europe and helped spark the European Renaissance. Innovations such as algebra, the concept of zero, techniques, and even early forms of chemistry had lasting global effects and are still influential today.

Also, the Islamic Empire influenced art, architecture, and culture across continents. The use of geometric patterns and design in Islamic art and buildings set new standards for beauty and precision. Architectural wonders like the Alhambra in Spain and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem stand as testaments to the empire’s cultural legacy. Through its religion, scholarship, and cultural achievements, the Islamic Empire shaped the development of both the Eastern and Western worlds in lasting and understandable ways.

They also spread their language, Latin, which helped shape many languages we speak now. During the debate, some people talked about how Roman laws still influence our laws today. I was surprised to learn that the Romans built aqueducts to bring water to cities. This invention showed how smart they were in engineering!

On the other hand, the Byzantine Empire also had a big impact, especially in art and religion. Some debaters mentioned how their beautiful churches still inspire people. However, I believe the Roman Empire influenced more parts of life, like government and military. Even though other empires were important, the Romans changed many things that are still around today. Overall, the debate helped me see how the Roman Empire shaped our world in big ways. I am thankful to learn about all these amazing empires!

To start my reflection on which empire Made the biggest impact, let’s start with the mongol empire! The mongol empire linked Europe and Asia and ushered in an era of frequent and extended contacts between East and West. And once the Mongols had achieved their relative stability, they neither discouraged nor impeded relations with foreigners. And now, the Islamic empire! The Islamic empire spread the Islamic faith and culture throughout the Middle East. This is one of the most obvious effects of the rein of the Islamic empire.

Let’s start talking about the effects that the Roman Empire has made! The Roman Empire, built upon the legacy of other cultures, has had long-lasting influence with broad geographical reach on a great range of cultural aspects, including state institutions, law, values, religious beliefs, technological advances, engineering and language. And lastly The ottaman empire, it was one of the largest and most long-lasting empires in world history. At its greatest extent, the empire extended to three continents -- stretching from the Balkans in southeastern Europe across Anatolia, Central Asia, Arabia, and North Africa, thanks in large part to the Ottoman military and its use of gunpowder.

I think that the ottaman empire had the biggest impact. This is because of its extent into 3 continents, stretching from the balkans in southeastern Europe across Anatolia, Central Asia, Arabia, and North Africa. The Ottoman Empire made me think that it made the biggest impact because it was one of the largest and most long lasting empires in world history.

Several empires throughout history have left lasting impacts on the world, but few compare to the Roman Empire. Spanning from the British Isles to the Middle East at its height, Rome shaped Western civilization in government, law, architecture, and language. The concept of a republic, Roman legal codes like jus civile, and Latin-based languages continue to influence modern societies. Cities around the world still bear Roman architectural hallmarks such as arches, aqueducts, and amphitheaters, and Roman Catholicism—rooted in the Roman Empire—remains one of the most widespread religions today.

Another transformative force was the Mongol Empire. In the 13th and 14th centuries, under Genghis Khan and his successors, the Mongols created the largest contiguous land empire in history. Their unification of vast territories from China to Europe led to unprecedented cross-cultural exchange. The Silk Road thrived under Mongol protection, facilitating the movement of goods, ideas, and technologies between East and West. Despite their reputation for brutality, the Mongols also promoted religious tolerance and administrative innovation, laying the groundwork for future global connectivity.

Lastly, the British Empire profoundly shaped the modern world through colonization and global trade. At its peak in the 19th and early 20th centuries, it was the largest empire in history, influencing politics, economics, and culture across every inhabited continent. English became a global language, and British legal, educational, and governmental systems were exported worldwide. The empire's legacy is complex, marked by both progress and exploitation, but its global reach and impact remain deeply embedded in the modern geopolitical and cultural landscape.

The Islamic Empire, especially during its Golden Age between the 8th and 13th centuries, was a hugely influential force in history. It contributed significantly to science, culture, and global trade. At its height, the Islamic Empire stretched from Spain in the west to India in the east, bringing together many different peoples under a shared religious and administrative system. Major cities like Baghdad, Cairo, and Cordoba became key centers for learning and innovation. Scholars in the empire saved and translated ancient Greek, Roman, Persian, and Indian texts into Arabic, preserving essential knowledge. This would later be a key influence on the European Renaissance.

Muslim scholars made major advances in several areas. In math, Al-Khwarizmi developed algebra, a term that comes from the Arabic "al-jabr." In medicine, figures like Ibn Sina, also known as Avicenna, wrote medical books that European universities used for centuries. Islamic architecture set new artistic standards with its grand mosques, intricate geometric designs, and engineering achievements like the Alhambra in Spain. These styles spread and influenced other cultures. The empire's trade routes connected Europe, Asia, and Africa, enabling an extensive exchange of goods, ideas, and technologies.

What set the Islamic Empire apart was its tolerance for different cultures and religions. This acceptance nurtured a rich intellectual and cultural diversity, allowing Muslims, Christians, Jews, and others to collaborate in academic and artistic endeavors. The influence of the Islamic Empire extended far beyond its geographical boundaries. It shaped languages, sciences, and even legal systems across continents. Its legacy continues to be seen today in fields such as mathematics, architecture, and medicine, proving that the Islamic Empire not only wielded great power in its time but also left a lasting impact on the world.

After taking part in the Empire Role-Play Debate, I believe the Mongol Empire had the biggest impact during the Middle Ages—even though I was part of the Ottoman Empire group. One of the strongest arguments made in favor of the Mongols was how they connected such a massive area of land across Europe and Asia. Their control over the Silk Road encouraged trade, helped spread ideas, and made it safer for travelers. The term “Pax Mongolica” was brought up during the debate, showing how their empire created peace and stability that allowed knowledge and goods to move across continents.

Representing the Ottoman Empire, I still think we had some powerful achievements. We had strong leadership under rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent, and our control of trade routes between Europe and Asia gave us economic power. Our military and architectural advancements, like the building of the Blue Mosque and the use of gunpowder, were major points we shared. But what made me lean toward the Mongols overall was how their empire wasn’t just powerful—it was a bridge between civilizations, allowing huge global influence.

Listening to the other groups gave me a new perspective. The Islamic Empire had incredible advancements in science, medicine, and learning, and the Roman Empire’s legacy in law and government was undeniable. But the Mongols’ influence on global trade, communication, and cultural exchange during the Middle Ages seemed to have the widest reach. Even though I was proud to represent the Ottomans, the Mongols left the strongest mark on the medieval world.

I like the Mongol Empire because I think it definitely had the biggest impact in the world. It was the largest land empire in history, which extended all the way from Asia to parts of Europe. It also connected like a lot of many different people and cultures. One of the most important things the Mongolians did was control the Silk Road which caused trade, ideas, and inventions to travel between the East and the West.

All this owing to it is that the Mongolians created gunpowder and paper which moved to other parts of the world. Those two creations made the direction of history once and for all. Paper made more people to read, write and study. Gunpowder changed the way in which wars were being fought. Even with the fact that Mongols had strong and even a brutal military. They also made uniting people and united the east and west like never before. That's why I think the Mongol Empire had the greatest impact; and that's why I find it so interesting and important in history.

This made it a key place where different cultures and ideas came together. The Ottomans controlled important cities like Istanbul, which helped them connect trade and ideas between the East and West. This connection made the empire very important for business, culture, and learning.

The empire also helped spread Islam, one of the largest religions in the world today. It ruled over many countries where Islam grew, and it allowed people of different religions, like Christians and Jews, to live together peacefully. This mix of cultures helped shape the way people live in those regions today. The Ottomans built beautiful buildings, like the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, and their art and traditions are still seen in the world today.

The Ottomans also contributed to science, government, and architecture. They created smart systems to run their huge empire and built impressive structures that people still admire. Even though the empire ended a long time ago, the things the Ottomans created and the way they helped connect different parts of the world are still important today.

The Mongol Empire, founded by Genghis Khan in the early 13th century, was one of the most expansive and powerful empires in world history. It began as a collection of nomadic tribes in the steppes of Central Asia but quickly grew through conquest and brilliant military strategies. Genghis Khan’s leadership was marked by his ability to unify diverse peoples and harness their strengths to build a formidable military force. His use of psychological warfare, mobility, and adaptability helped the Mongols defeat much larger armies and conquer vast territories stretching from China to Eastern Europe.

Beyond its military dominance, the Mongol Empire had a significant impact on global trade and cultural exchange. Under the Pax Mongolica, or “Mongol Peace,” trade routes like the Silk Road were revitalized and secured, facilitating the movement of goods, ideas, technologies, and even religions across continents. This period of relative stability allowed for unprecedented contact between East and West, influencing societies in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The empire helped lay the foundation for a more interconnected world and demonstrated the importance of cross-cultural communication and cooperation.

Despite their reputation for brutality, the Mongols were also known for their administrative innovation and religious tolerance. They often allowed local rulers to maintain some control as long as they paid tribute, and they supported various religions, including Islam, Buddhism, and Christianity. The Mongol Empire’s legacy is a complex one—marked by both destruction and development—but it undeniably reshaped the medieval world and set the stage for future global interaction. Reflecting on its history offers valuable lessons about leadership, cultural exchange, and the dual nature of empire-building

The Ottoman Empire was one of the most powerful empires in history. It started in the late 1200s in a region called Anatolia, which is in modern-day Turkey. The empire was founded by a leader named Osman I, and it grew quickly as the Ottomans took over nearby lands. Over time, the empire expanded into parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa, becoming a large and strong empire that lasted for over 600 years.

One of the most famous sultans, or rulers, of the Ottoman Empire was Suleiman the Magnificent. He ruled in the 1500s and helped the empire reach its peak. During his time, the empire had a strong government, a big army, and many beautiful buildings were built, like mosques and palaces. The Ottomans were also known for their trade and for being open to different cultures and religions, although non-Muslims had to pay special taxes.

The Ottoman Empire began to weaken in the 1700s and 1800s because of wars, corruption, and problems with its economy. Eventually, the empire collapsed after World War I, and in 1923, the Republic of Turkey was formed in its place. Even though the empire ended, its culture, art, and ideas still influence many countries today.

This scale of control going from asia to the middle east to europe connected many different cultures and regions, which leads to the second point.

The mongols promoted the exchange of knowledge of cultures, such as the inventions of gunpowder made by the Chinese, Islamic astronomy and medicine being shared around Asia, and Paper money being used. The mongols also pretty much changed military tactics for the better, using speed, mobility, and psychological warfare, making enemies possibly go insane. Their strategies was the influence of many future armies and empires. The Mongols religions significantly changed as they grew. They used to only practice shamanism, where they believed they were connected to the spirit world and worked as protectors, healers, and so on. However, as they grew and shared more cultures, the Mongols converted to Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, and many more, making Mongols one of the only empires to allow shared cultures and religions.

The fall of the Mongol Empire did not end it, as it just created new extremely powerful empires, like The Ottoman Empire, The Ming Dynasty, and the Mughal Empire.

In conclusion, The Mongol Empires impact on the world was significant, as it shared many cultures and religions to spread around the world, and it was a diverse empire when it came to religion and cultures, making it one of the most interesting and powerful empires in history.

Although I believed the Roman Empire was the best, the Islamic Empire also has its pros. Its influence reached far beyond its borders. At the same time, the Romans were known for their roads, architecture, and law. The Islamic Empire made everything/found everything before us Romans, their ideas were worked upon by us with contributions in science, astrology/astronomy, medicine, and mathematics are still used in this day and age. During the Islamic golden age, muslim scholars expanded the knowledge of us Romans and Greeks, expanding it. They created algebra, improved surgical techniques, built advanced hospitals, and invented tools like the astrolabe, which improved navigation. These innovations were passed on to Europe and sparked the Renaissance. The Islamic Empire valued learning can be a "sunnah" in the muslim religion in a way that made it a beacon of knowledge. The Islamic Empire’s strength wasn’t just in its inventions but also in its leadership from military leaders and tactics. Military generals like Khalid ibn al-Walid led strategic campaigns that expanded the empire from Spain to China, and Islam almost all across the world.

The Islamic Empire was the best empire in the Middle Ages. They helped people learn many new things. People in the Islamic Empire made revolutionary discoveries in science, math, and medicine. They wrote books, made many new discoveries, and made hospitals that helped many people. They were very smart and loved to learn. The Islamic Empire helped the world understand more about the world and even astronomy.

The Islamic Empire was also very kind. They treated people with respect. And people from different places and religions lived together peacefully. Cities like Baghdad and Cordoba had lots of schools, where everyone could learn. In fact, they even invented universities. People shared knowledge, and that helped everybody learn more.

The Islamic Empire believed in Islam (I know it was so unexpected right). And Islam taught people to be kind, give charity, and to be fair. There’s much more but I can’t put all of it in here, so now we’re going to talk about their leaders. The leaders in the Islamic Empire tried to be good and fair, just like Muhammad ﷺ. They helped poor people and they made sure that everyone had what they needed. The empire was peaceful and strong because of this.

Other empires did good things too, but the Islamic Empire helped people get more knowledge, be more kind, and be more peaceful. That’s why I think it was the best empire in the Middle Ages.
