Hi All-
My behavior change will focus on becoming more active and incorporating physical activity into my regular weekly routine. Like many others, I have struggled with weight loss, body image issues and all the other negative junk that goes along with feeling all around crappy. I had lost over 100lbs from 2015-2017. It took two years, but the change felt good. I saw how I not only physically felt better and was more confident in myself but also the positive impact that physical activity had on my mental health. That being said, I have run out of excuses to get my butt moving again!

Post Polar Vortex Outside Adventure

Decided last minute to take my wild child out for what I thought would be a quick hike. Poor little dude had been cooped up inside all day for three days with no school and 24/7 mom supervising...so we needed to get out. Now that it is safe to venture outside without the fear of your face being frozen off, we ended up at Magnolia Bluff state park. My legs are super sore so I was walking funny all day but we did the two mile hike in snow...with no snow shoes...so it was a 2 mile hike/fall/slide adventure. I even took a cheesy selfie for this post.

We bought our house in the small town that I grew up in. It's one of those "everyone knows everyone's business" places. So something that I swore I was never going to do was buy a gym membership because I didn't want to run into people I knew from 10+ years ago. I don't know if it's because I want my workouts to be focused on me and not anything or anyone else around me or if I just dread the gym that much...but after the last couple weeks of snow and ice, I realized I wasn't going to get much exercise in outside anytime soon. So, after four years of living here I finally did it. I'll plan to go at least 3 times this week. I made it easy and am shooting for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Now I just need to shovel myself out of the driveway first...

Trying not to feel guilty...

I have failed to keep my physical activity level up the last two weeks. My house was hit HARD with whatever illness has been going around. If anything, a majority of my 'physical' exercise came from running around the house with the Lysol disinfecting everything. I was able to take my dog for her normal walks towards the end of the week last week, but I failed to make it into the gym. I'm a little disappointed in myself, but I'm trying to keep in mind that in order to get better, I needed to take care of myself, even if that meant days on the couch watching Game of Thrones in between naps.
