In FRIGOVITO, the animals, before being slaughtered, are bathed to remove dust and excreta from the body. The blood is collected independently and should not be discharged along with the wastewater. An audit was conducted based on the criteria set forth in the Colombian technical standard ISO 14001 of 2015. This standard is used in all types of companies and entities, whether public or private, in all sectors regardless of their activity and size, being the means accepted to demonstrate the commitment of the company to the environment.
Said the above, it was possible to determine the findings and the nonconformities that were obtained when carrying out the audit in FRIGOVITO S.A. During the visit, the following was determined.
Regarding the understanding of the needs and expectations of the stakeholders, there is a disagreement since it is necessary for the different partners to improve the investments for the company so that a better environmental sanitation of higher quality and constant progress is achieved. In the fucking environmental management system the company has a non-conformity because it requires more coordination by managers to impose surveillance tasks for full compliance with the rules because it was found that one person is responsible for surveillance and compliance with all the sanitation processes that must be carried out, that is, the partners of FRIGOVITO SA they must put more people in charge of inspection and surveillance tasks since it is a task that requires a lot of time and effort because the number of workers is high, it is almost impossible for a single person to control all the workers.
In point 5.1 leadership and commitment (senior management) it was found that the resources needed for environmental management are not available because it has been determined that the company's partners are more interested in their personal profit and little in the continuous improvement of sanitation of the company, it should be noted that FRIGOVITO SA complies with the permissible limits of discharge of wastewater to water sources but it is possible that it is essential to seek the continuous improvement of the environmental management of the company.

Prior to the design of the wastewater treatment plant, PML processes must be implemented in order to reduce the massive water consumption. Its application can generate savings in the costs of construction and operation of water treatment systems.

The evaluation of the physical and chemical characteristics of the effluent from the process of slaughter of cattle and swine in the slaughterhouse of FRIGOVITO, shows that it is a liquid with high levels of contamination that is not suitable to be discharged directly into the sewer or to a receiving body .

RECOMMENDATIONS:

• Regardless of the procedure or degree of treatment of the wastewater that is adopted, the final wastewater must always be disinfected and the waste treated thermally.
• It is important to understand that as time goes by, the methods of environmental management in companies must be improved, and for that, greater investment in personnel is required for the regulation, management and updating of environmental management.
