Multimodal texts are extremely useful when describing a certain subject. Multimodal itself means the addition of images, audio, and other types of texts. We can use this to help further explain a topic that may be initially confusing. Like a graph or diagram. It can also be used to set a tone surrounding a subject. For instance a dark image might pull negative emotions from the audience into the text. This will further enhance the audience understanding of the subject.

An image of a healthy turtle versus one with a plastic ring around it could also create the same effect. For multimodal techniques we could use a variety of images and documentaries highlighting the damage the pollution does to animals and how it impacts the audience, also creating a sense of exigency by relating the urgency to the audience. Some challenges may be convincing people that this problem affects them, especially those who live inland.

Quantum Mechanics

For our multimodal techniques we could add pictures of an electron field and a computer as an integration technique to add context to what quantum mechanics is. After that we could do an intro explaining in words what the basic concepts of quantum mechanics are. We could explain super position along with an image of a coinflip and a metaphor to illustrate that its a probability. We could then similarly explain entanglement with with other pictures maybe a a juxtaposition.

Our topic for the composition 2 assignment was the effects of burnout in college students and how to prevent it. We chose this topic because it can closely relate to anyone who has been a student or currently is. We would use multimodal texts to show how mental health, stress, and anxiety can all contribute to feeling burnt out. We might have also used statistics to show what might cause the feeling of burnout like watching TV, scrolling on social media, over-shooting at work, etc.
