This is the most credible article regarding the Shag Harbour Incident. This document was prepared by the Canadian Department of National Defence. It detailts the events as well as the witness reports from the night of October 6th, 1967. There is mention of missing RCMP reports in this document. The article also mentions that this case is still considered unsolved.

This article details about the second flying object that escaped with the first one after the first one was located. It talkes about the eyewitness accounts and how they explain why people believe in weird things due to perception. I think the author of this article gave a lot of information regarding the events so there was a little proof by verbosity. I also think that there was a bit of confirmation bias as any other explanations were easily dismissed.

This is a link to related news articles that were published at the time of the incident. Many Red Flags can be seen in these news articles as people were jumping to assumptions regarding the lights and the objects. In one of the articles it says ":

"Leading Canadian scientists are wondering if Shelburne County UFOs are secret new war machines."
People also started to come out more saying that they had been seeing object or lights for some time. Giving into the confirmation bias.

This is an image of the newspaper article that was printed at the time of the incident. The article clearly has made an assumptions that the UFO could of been shot down by U.S planes. I think this would be an example of a Red Herring because there was no evidence to suggest the object was "blasted" down by planes let alone U.S planes.

This is an image of a sign at the site of the incident. This image shows how people capatilize on other people believing in the unexplained. This sign also would appeal to those who believe due to agenticity, as they would want to assign that aliens were indeed responsible for the events that occurred in 1967.

This is the full documentary regarding the Shag Harbour Incident. This documentary claims to uncover new eyewitness accounts as well as new photographic evidence. This is an example of Perception/Observation. People want to believe what their eyes tell them they saw that night. I think there is incomplete evidence regarding the "new" eye witness accounts as it as been 40 years since the incident, so you have to question why it was not brought up sooner.

This is another video created to explain the events of the Shag Harbour Incident. One issue with this video is that it was created by the handle "Alltime Conspiracies" which is not a credible source for information when I researched them. The use of suppression by authorities happens in the video when they explain how the no other action was justifiable by the RCMP or the Maritime Command which suggests that Canada wanted to forget about what happens.d

This is a video that gives a brief summary of the Shag Harbour Incident and the days leading up the October 6th, 1967. The use of Proof by Verbosity is evident in this video as it is flooded with information. Another issue with this video is that the divers who claimed a big find, refused to be unidentified, which makes their claim less credible.

What did you learn about the topic that most surprised you?

The most surprising fact I learned about this topic was that there was a suspected UFO crash site in Canada. Before this I had not know that there were any UFO sightings in

Canada and made the mistake to assume most of them took place in the U.S.

2. Provide a real-life example of how this topic is relevant or interesting for you.
I find this topic very interesting because I share the research I have learned with friends and family. For me this is how I know that I find something interesting because I want to share it.

3.Which research did you find most interesting? Why?

I personally found the Department of National Defences Memo regarding the incident the most interesting. I find this the most interesting because to me it is the most credible source for information and the fact that the government was interested enough to do its own investigation.

4. What are you most likely to remember from this research?

What I will remember most from the research is that the fishermen had to go through “thick glittery foam” to get to where the object crashed and that fact that this incident happened in Canada. I will remember these two facts because they are both interesting to me.
