With globalization, a realy important part of life, social behavior, is taking on a new meaning - keywort meshing cultur. It happens automaticly sins the way of how we conact us is changing increasingly in the past years. There are positiv and negativ sites, like racism on the one Hand and new social insights on the other hand. One topic particular stand out - cultural appropiation. When you appropriate cultur you should apprecate it. This is a very sensitive subject, but the way technology is evolving is helping us communicate more easily and quickly, so we can make ourselves heard better to clear up misunderstandings. Let's say an artist releases a fashion line that is heavily influenced by a distant culture. Within seconds, feedback can come from all over the world to discuss the way it was presented and to exchange whether the artist was successful with his creation or went too far.

Through globalization, people all over the world are interconntected together by different means of communication, so they learn from each other and their culture, but mainly they are trading. This is also the case in the food culture, since globalization had a major influence. This shows not only our food consumption behavior, it shows the way we prepare food and also in our table manners. This all started with the purchase of basic food. Therefore, Corn and wheat are good examples for that. Wheat was only grown in the Middle East, while corn was grown in South America. Through trade and voyages of discovery, these staple foods spread across the world and so the food culture was influenced in small steps very early on - later with pepper, potates ect.. This development led the production of finished goods, which spread across the globe. The tin was invented in 1810, as well as the first dry soups in 1876, which were the first ready-made products to establish themselves on the market and to be traded. This has influenced the way people eat around the world. As a result of this development, globalization has a large variety of food from all over the world, so today, these different food cultures may come all together in one city.

Germanys dependence on foreign technology like microchips or semi-conductors is increasingly getting riskier. Superpowers like the US or China are fighting in international trade wars. The outcome may be devastating for the German industrial complex. Taiwanese TSMC currently produces a lot of highly advanced microchips for our automobile industry and their suppliers and they are currently having trouble meeting the demand. Of course our production facilities stand still if there is a shortage so we can already see the result of that shortage. If, due to actions not being controlled by us, our (almost) entire economy is reliant on one supplier or even a few, it is a bad way to go through unpredictable times.
Imagine if you couldn’t use your cellphone, stove, fridge or even washing machine because there are simply no chips to produce new ones or repair the old ones. You couldn’t even drive a car. Planes couldn’t deliver food or other materials. Just creating these items without microchips wouldn’t be a solution either due to skyrocketing costs per item. The demand would outweigh the supply. This situation would throw us at least a hundred years back in development and unemployment would shoot up to insane numbers.
The EU is thinking about investing into a production facility for microchips and other similar products. The US is doing the same now. Only time will tell if it isn’t to late already. Due to bureaucracy burdens it will probably take longer in the EU than in the US because these facilities produce a lot of toxic waste that cannot be just dumped and must be properly handled. The cost of producing will be higher than the revenue it generates but if an entire country or even continent is relying on it to save its prosperity, it is worth it. Globalization has given many countries a lot of prosperity but if everything is reliant on one thing to be working, it is bound to be doomed.

The fast food chains are a result of Globalization. These Concerns mostly come from the western part and and now they spread all over the world. But how they did that? The best example for that is McDonalds!. They have 38,000 restaurants worldwide and are considered the product of globalization. The concern achieved this by global standardization, fair prices in different countries, constant further development and because the western food became a status symbol. This development also enabled companies to arrive in poorer countries like India. In 1996, McDonald's opened his first restaurant in New Delhi and adapted to India's cultural peculiarities and regional preferences. They attracted in India with specially developed - vegetarian menus, a McVeggie Burger with the solgan "as Indian as you and me" and do without beef or pork. According to the company, production processes are designed in a strict separation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. They guaranteed this from the procurement to the preparation service - even mayonnaise is made without eggs according to a specially recipe for the Indian market. This all seems to be positive, cause everyone discovers new preferances and have more diversity, but it also have a negeative site, because the life of peolple becoming more unhealthy and the obesityn in the world increases more and more- in the end, it is up to everyone to evulate for himself.

There are fewer and fewer companies producing in Germany. Rather, production is often relocated to near or far abroad, especially to so-called low-wage countries. There are solid reasons for this: companies are internationalizing, for example in order to produce cheaper or to reach a larger sales market. Manufacturing companies are one of the main drivers of globalization , as they directly and indirectly influence the interdependencies between countries. The importance of international companies is evident in the increasing movements of goods and commodities. Manufacturing companies in industrialized countries are now almost all present in international markets. You will then also become a “ global player", Also called" global players ". These global players operate worldwide and take advantage of the special differences between the countries where the company is headquartered. Most of the time, the headquarters of these companies are selected based on economic reasons. The global players benefit from the fact that they can set up their headquarters in a tax-privileged region and burden the global subsidiaries with low profits. The actual company profit is generated by the headquarters, which benefits from the low taxes. Such maximization methods run through all the activities of global players and are specifically promoted, for example, by commissioning management consultancies and business consultancy firms.

In addition to the global players, a large number of smaller companies also buy into international markets and benefit from global price fluctuations and other advantages. Subcontracting services from other countries are also an integral part of the corporate policy of many medium-sized companies and corporations. In particular, companies that trade in mass-produced goods or need them for further processing are dependent on international advantages such as the advantage of lower wages abroad. The sale of goods and services today almost inevitably has to take place across national borders, as the companies involved have to grow. The home markets are served quickly, however, so that new markets have to be developed in order to create a basis for further growth.

Definition "Global Player"

A company that operates globally beyond the national borders of its country of origin is generally referred to as a global player. It has networks of branches and corporate centers around the world and has subsidiaries operating in their respective areas of the world.

This gives global players the opportunity to operate global networks effectively and use synergies. Global players, for example, operate huge factories in developing or emerging countries to manufacture their products, but also the branches and logistics centers to ship these products around the world and sell them in the industrialized countries. A network of different brands and subsidiaries enables them to ideally adapt to the respective market conditions in the various countries. Due to the huge turnover and broad product range, it is also possible for them to work more effectively as a locally operating company and to compensate for market fluctuations in certain areas. They are therefore superior to small companies and adopt them, to strengthen their own market position. This leads to a growing centralization of the market to a few companies.

Global players are also an important part of the financial markets. On the one hand, they all have a large need for capital, as investments must be made in the development and expansion of the company. On the other hand, it must be borne in mind that global players worth billions are also among the largest investors. It is easy for them to provide entire cities with work and thus also to influence the local economy. In addition, many global players are listed companies whose shares are part of international financial speculation. As a result, these companies also have a considerable influence on the international capital markets.

Finally, it should be noted that global players, due to their sheer size, also have political influence. In the world economy it is common for economic contacts to exist before political contacts and to enable them. That is why the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, for example, often travels to foreign countries with “representatives of the economy”. Economic cooperation promotes the foreign policy of the countries involved, which in turn brings economic advantages. This in turn means that business and politics not only like to cooperate, but simply conditional on each other. Economic and political cooperation can result in stability and peace, but also global economic crises.

The ability to operate in free markets across borders has enabled multinational companies to make decisions far removed from the rules of democracy. They are only bound by the requirements of the states in which they operate. Of course, the states try to protect the interests of their people, but they are dependent on the companies. The economic strength and competitiveness of a state depends directly on the companies that produce within its borders and give people work. Since the onset of globalization, they have been in competition with other states. If a state enforces particularly tough regulations, a company can simply relocate its headquarters to another state, which in turn benefits from the company.

The fact that global players have taken such great power in the world economy not only serves the good of humanity. The fierce competition between the multinationals means that they are forced to maximize their effectiveness. This happens through low wages for the workers and sometimes unscrupulous use of the earth and its resources. In search of maximum profit, global players have factories built in developing countries to take advantage of the helplessness of the workers there. They destroy the local structures and offer the unemployed, starving population a chance to survive - with low pay. Protection of employees does not exist or is circumvented by the company, as a result of which the workers sometimes work twelve hours a day for earnings of one euro. Forests are also being cleared to make room for agriculture, soils are made unusable by chemicals and seas are fished empty, as moral aspects as well as the control of institutions or states in the huge companies hardly come into play.

In the end, only one instance was able to put a stop to the corporations: demand. The increasing awareness of the people about the problems of globalization has meant that global players have to pay close attention to the reputation of their customers. If the headlines say that a global player tolerates particularly poor working conditions in its factories, this has a negative impact on sales. The company has to react.

Enviromental Protection

Globalization also has an impact on the environment. It strives for the primacy of the economy over politics, social aspects, culture and the environment. The consequences are: clearing in the last jungles of the earth, emptying the seas, desertification of landscapes, global warming by uninhibited burning fossil fuels, release of genetically modified organisms, regardless of harmful consequences and group dependent farmers. For the following generations the economy will be subordinate to the preservation of the environment. Therefore, international environmental policy has a hearing that of the years before. But globalization doesn’t have to be negative. Global agreements serve environmental protection, enable global communication, exchange of experience, and faster help. However, this is not always enough. It would also be important for companies to be held liable for the consequences of their investments and activities. Community goods such as soil, water, air, climate, forests and seas are the livelihoods of all people. Therefore, they should be protected nationally and internationally. Environmental protection should be promoted more and support environmentally friendly and sustainable production methods in order to enable a healthy environment in the longer term.
