Second take away is to constantly re-evaluate our strategies and see if they are still relevant or should we decrease the amount of scaffold and support so that students with LD can learn to be independent too.

I also learnt that there are many links that can be accessed to help students transition into tertiary institutions. 1) I have come across many students with dyslexia.  However, after this lesson, I gained great insights about the different strategies that can be adopted to help them. I was really wowed at the vast strategies that can be used to help them.

2) I also learned that it is important not to label them. We have to be patient and empathise with them.  Having good TSR, TTR, and even PTR is important in helping the child.  Also, peer relationship is important for the child. So, it is important for teache  to create a caring culture in class so the child will feel more at ease in class.

It’s important that there is a continuation in the support that is provided for the students from the different level of learning (eg. primary to secondary to tertiary)
A continuity is essential to give the proper support to the student. 
As an educator, we have to perform our duty of care to help these students. If support is not given/ maybe insufficient, the student may not enjoy and have a different perspective of the learning.

(2) 
All teachers teaching a certain of students with learning disabilities need to know the needs of each student to enable to support them. It will be difficult even for the student to understand. The student will be confuse. 
Speaking the same language is necessary. Consistency is important for these students. In Spectra, we believe that ‘It takes a village to raise a child’. When all of us learn about the child together, we share notes and resources, not only we help the child , we also help ourselves (just like a jigsaw).
