December 2006- Saddam Hussein was executed.

Saddam Hussein was found in Iraq hiding in a hole on when the U.S. captured him. Saddam was then executed a few days after being captured. Saddam Hussein's death made many people relieved because of his dictatorship.

September 2001 to Now- War on Terror

The War on Terror started after 9/11 to try and defeat terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. It costs a lot of money but the U.S. cannot leave the war or they will be known as weak and then the U.S. could risk the terrorists coming to the U.S.

ISIS has become a big problem these days and has been since the execution of Saddam Hussein. ISIS is an Islamic terrorist group from Syria that came from another terrorist group called Al Qaeda. They have attacked and hurt many different places and people and it is a terrible problem because they will only get stronger unless people fight back at them.

The U.S had spent millions of dollars and many years trying to find Osoma Bin Laden which made his death very well known. It's very important that the U.S. killed Osoma Bin Laden because he was one of the masterminds of 9/11.

March 20 2003- May 1 2003- Invasion of Iraq

George W Bush sent troops to invade Iraq to disarm Weapons of Mass Destruction and stop Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism. They did not succeed in stopping Saddam Hussein and they also found no weapons of mass destruction.

November 13 2015- Bombing in paris

ISIS used guns and explosives, basically shooting and blowing up places and people in Paris. They killed 130 and wounded hundreds of people. From this Paris learned to make their security stronger and find out if Islamic terrorists would devote more time to having a stronger military and attacks on other countries.

April 13 2013- Boston marathon bombing

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev placed 2 pressure cooker bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. His motive was Islamic terrorism which was scary because ISIS and Al Qaeda were becoming more popular and dangerous.

September 20 2016- New York and New Jersey bombing

A man placed pressure cooker bombs in a New York dumpster and also placed pipe bombs in New Jersey. It was scary because it hurt 29 people and was right after a shootout in New Jersey.
