I think this quote is talking about finding who your true friends are not literally putting up walls but putting up a figurative wall in a emotional/ verbal sense that will test who your real friends are along with who cares about you enough to knock it down.

3. I agree with this quote and think its important and a excellent way for individuals to see who their true friends are.

4.A personal example would be if you're depressed or going through hard times and the individual could avoid their friends/ others as a way of ignoring them to see who cares enough to check up on them to see if they're alright.

I believe that what this quote is trying to say it that your actions don't necessarily show what you are feeling, what you appear is isn't necessarily what you are in reality

3. I agree with this quote

4. A real world example would be someone who acts rude in a mall. This doesn't mean that they are a rude person, they could've just been surprised and reacted oddly, or been having a terrible day. Another example would be how hamlet pretended to be crazy to discover how fathers murderer and than get revenge. He wasn't actually crazy but he felt he needed to put up a facade to accomplish his goals, so his appearance didn't accurately depict his

2. I believe that this quote brings to light the fact that things are not always what they seem. Understanding goes beyond the surface. The first line refers to the idea that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What society perceives as beautiful may not actually be beautiful, or be something that brings us happiness. Things that shine, shine from within. Their value, and their beauty are intrinsic. For example, people may consider the latest technology to be the thing that sparkles and catches their eye. For others, technology holds little importance. Instead, something else may glitter to them, such as knowledge, nature, or even people.

The second part really dives into the idea that not everything is what it seems. People who wander are commonly thought of as lost. People believe that they are seeking something, or trying to find meaning. Rarely to people consider the possibility that these people have found their way, and found their meaning, and are enjoying it to the fullest. They may be trying to learn more, and understand further. Someone may have found beauty in new experiences, and so they wander in order to live their experiences to the fullest. Human intentions and human motivations are never as clear as we think. It is always worth looking further, beyond the surface.

3. I agree with this quote completely. I fully support looking beyond an appearance, and seeing if something really glitters, and if so, why. I've truly learned that nothing is as it seems.

4. I think an interesting example would be gypsies. Society accepts people who settle down, society values stability. People like gypsies are people who travel, and never stay in one place. Their view of the world is so unique. Money may not glitter in their eyes, rather life and its new experiences, it's wonder. Family and love hold importance, not the place and materialistic things.

2. In a person's life one goes through many obstacles of which through the process of overcoming them, impacts the people around you. In this case, the wall is the impact you have on the people around you. Many people may find that this 'wall' is a symbol of neglect, but it is in fact a type of beacon or signal that shows one needs help. As a result the people who truly care about you are the people who respond to the beacon.
3. I agree
4. In the real world, an example can be when someone is going through a problem in their family and they start ghosting their friends. The act of ghosting is the signal that someone is alienating themselves which in turn is a ploy for comfort.

I believe this quote means that sometimes you would shut yourself out or close your feelings/opinion or even distance yourself physically and mentally from other people, just to see who would show a concern or care towards you. I agree with this quote, because I have witnessed people doing the exact same thing whether it is just to get as much attention as they can, or whether it is someone trying to find out who is a true friend to them, while also learning who the fake people in their life is. I can personally relate to this as I, admittedly, have done the same thing to try and find out who the fake people are in my life. I wanted to cut out the negativity from my life, and that started with the fake friends. I am not going to name names, but many other students have purposely gone out on social media and said something along the lines of "don't talk to me" or "very upset, dont text" just to see who would ignore their request and communicate with them just to find out what was going on.

I agree with this quote because it proves that people can give up on eachother, so the best thing to do is feel sorry for them for giving up on others. It doesn't matter if they give up on you, because your the only person that matters to care about that person that gave up on you. Don't lose your own respect by falling into thier actions.

I agree with this quote. I believe this quote means that in your life you’ll meet people who will come in and out that may not be on your same level emotionally. If someone can leave you with ease it speaks how they truly felt towards you.
Sometimes it is for the best because it shows you true colours. I can relate to it the most out of all three. By being in high school, you meet many people who you initially get along with but down the lie you may realize you are more down for them than they were for you and the friendship will eventually end.

This quote talks about isolation and seeking someone to help you feel wanted. It says people put barriers up in order for another person to break it down as if the wall is a call for help. I agree with the author and do relate to this quote in the present moment; I built a wall with distance to isolate myself and to see who would notice and talk to me about it just as the quote states. I am the person in the quote however I do not believe this is a proper or right thing to do. In doing this I find myself alone without people to go back and count on. One could justify these people never cared however perhaps they're doing the same thing. It is possible that while you are building the wall, the people you're shielding yourself from need you as a friend. In conclusion I believe honesty and communication are how one should see if someone is willing to be there for you, not isolation

2. I think this quote means that even though someone seems to be doing well from the outside, it may not actually be the case. Things aren't always as they seem. The work and sacrifices that are made to achieve the "gold" status are not shown. The second part of the quote talks about how someone who seems to be wandering may actually have a direction. Again, we only see the outside of someone, their thoughts and intentions are all hidden from us.3. I agree with this quote. Wait dont look at this im not done4. When I see someone who does extremely well in areas like math and science, their marks and results are the only thing that is seen. The work and time spent in studying is not shown. Wait i dont have time to fini

2. I think that this quote means that, firstly, something/someone you think is valuable initially might turn out to be not as valuable as you thought or might even end up "hurting you". I think the second part of the quote means that if you don't have a clear path to follow, that doesn't necessarily mean that you are lost. You could be finding your way still, and sometimes the best way to do that is to wander.

3. I agree with this quote.

4. One example is how if someone gets a game or something that they really like and get obsessed with it, but they spend a lot of time on it and end up pushing people away who are getting tired of them spending all their time with that game. In this case the person really likes that game but the game is also slowly taking apart their life by pushing people away, causing less sleep, making them not eat as much etc... Another example is if you don't know what you want to do when your grow up, it doesn't mean you are lost, it just means you need to try different things until you find something that suits you.
